Nam is a character from Kurokami The Animation who originates from Korea. She is a Sanshinryon, a being that is roughly the Korean equivalent of a Tera Guardian. Unlike standard Mototsumitama, a Sanshinryon cannot form contracts with humans, but is individually more powerful without needing one. Nam came to Japan with the intention of starring in a television show, but her naivety led to her being conned out of most of her money and having her luggage stolen, which included her recommendation letter and directions to the studio. Left stranded, she eventually ended up freeloading at the home of the main character Keita Ibuki, after attempting to cook the creature PuniPuni for a meal. Later she stays with Akane Sano. Despite her initial gullibility, Nam is a highly skilled combatant. She owns an artifact known as the Thousand sword, which is capable of banishing spirits. Her role in the story is primarily as a supporting character who teaches Keita and Kuro how to work together as a team, specifically how to maximize their Tera energy transfer through synchronization. Her key relationships include Keita, Kuro, and Akane, and through her guidance she helps the main pair improve their cooperation in battle. Nam does not undergo major personal development in the anime beyond her integration into the group, but her combat expertise and knowledge of the Sanshinryon class provide important tactical support.
