Description
Makie Tsukamoto is a supporting character in the romantic comedy series Midori Days. She is a high school student and a classmate of the protagonist, Seiji Sawamura, known for her long brown hair and gray eyes. Makie has a lively, extroverted personality and is quick to befriend others, maintaining a positive and upbeat demeanor even in awkward or difficult situations. She is brave and willing to help those she cares about, never hesitating to put herself at risk if needed. Her primary motivation is her romantic feelings for Seiji, which she holds from early in the series. However, she does not pressure him or act on her feelings aggressively; instead, she wants him to be happy, regardless of whom he chooses. When she learns about Seiji’s unusual situation his right hand has been replaced by the tiny girl Midori she initially finds it strange but eventually grows to support him sincerely. Makie’s role in the story is that of a supportive friend and classmate who provides both comedic relief and emotional grounding. Her closest relationship is with her best friend and fellow classmate Takako Ayase, with whom she often discusses her feelings for Seiji. Over the course of the series, Makie develops from a distant admirer into a more understanding and selfless presence in Seiji’s life, showing personal growth in how she handles unrequited affection. She has no supernatural abilities; she is a normal teenager whose strengths lie in her sociability, loyalty, and emotional resilience.
