Description
Eu Lunt, whose name is also spelled Eu Landt or simply Lunt in some English adaptations, is a minor supporting character in the anime Spice and Wolf II. He is a young boy and a resident of the trading town of Kerube, where he works as an apprentice to the merchant Marc Cole.

Eu Lunt appears as a child of pre-adolescent age. He has brown hair cut to ear-length, orange eyes, and freckles dotting his face. His typical attire consists of practical clothing, including boots and three-quarter length pants, which is suitable for his duties around Marc’s trading post.

In his role as Marc Cole’s apprentice, Eu Lunt is industrious and observant. He is present during the tense events surrounding the pyrite market, a speculative bubble that forms the central conflict of the story arc set in Kerube. While the merchant Kraft Lawrence becomes deeply entangled in a high-stakes competition against the young and wealthy merchant Fermi Amarty, it is Eu Lunt who plays a surprising and pivotal role in reversing Lawrence's fortunes.

When Lawrence’s initial plans to manipulate the pyrite market begin to unravel, he falls into despair, believing he has lost everything, including his companion Holo. At this critical moment, Eu Lunt intervenes. He directly confronts Lawrence, using a mix of childish bluntness and sharp observation to break him out of his hopeless state. He reminds Lawrence of his basic duties as a merchant and points out a crucial detail about his own apprentice, Marc’s son, that Lawrence had overlooked. This simple, honest push is exactly what Lawrence needs to regain his composure and take action again.

Beyond this moment of motivation, Eu Lunt’s relationship with the main characters is established through his master, Marc. As Marc's apprentice, he is in a position to observe the evolving drama between Lawrence, Holo, and Amarty. His most significant relationship is with Holo herself, though it remains largely hidden until the conflict is resolved. After Lawrence is spurred back into action by the boy, it is revealed that Eu Lunt had been secretly working on Holo’s behalf. Following her instructions, he was the one who sold a large quantity of pyrite that she had acquired from a source, effectively executing the final move that crashed the market price and secured Lawrence’s victory. In this way, Eu Lunt acts as a critical and unsung agent in Holo's plan to save her traveling companion.
