Description
General Bat is a high-ranking commander of the Dinosaur Empire, a civilization of reptile-like beings who have lived underground for millennia and seek to reclaim the surface world. Serving as the second-in-command to Emperor Gore, he is one of the primary antagonists in the original Getter Robo story. His appearance is distinct, with a head that resembles a pterosaur or a bat, a feature that inspired his name and gives him a silhouette that has been compared to the character Devilman.
The personality and competence of General Bat vary significantly depending on which version of the story is being examined. In the original manga and the related OVA Shin Getter Robo vs. Neo Getter Robo, Bat is portrayed as a loyal, intelligent, and cool-headed commander. He is devoted to the Dinosaur Empire and his master, Emperor Gore, but remains pragmatic and knows when a battle is lost.
