Description
Kouchin, also written as Kochin, is one of the twelve Shinsho, the powerful shikigami who serve under the legendary onmyoji Abe no Seimei. Among the Shinsho, her spiritual power is regarded as second only to that of Guren, marking her as one of the most formidable members of the group. She presents as a mature-looking woman with shoulder-length black hair and deep obsidian eyes. When she taps into a heightened or berserk state, those dark eyes shift to a striking gold, signaling a surge of destructive force.

As a Shinsho, Kouchin belongs to a collective of ancient beings born from human dreams and imagination, invested with the duty to assist Seimei and his descendants in protecting the capital from supernatural threats. In the narrative, she operates as a reliable supporting presence, entering the fray when needed to combat demons and other dark entities. Her personality receives little explicit focus, but in keeping with the nature of the Shinsho she demonstrates unwavering loyalty to Seimei and a quiet, steadfast commitment to her duties. While her specific motivations and personal history remain largely unexplored, Kouchin’s combat capability and her place among the highest-tier shikigami make her a respected figure within the spiritual order that underpins the story.
