TV-Series
Description
Angela Rains is a recurring character in the television series, working as a reporter for the media outlet Daily Duel. She is established as a professional rival to her colleague, Carly Carmine, consistently demonstrating greater success in her career and a dismissive, often disrespectful attitude toward Carly. In the English version of the series, it is mentioned that they attended the same high school together.

In terms of appearance, Angela is a young woman with blonde hair that reaches her waist, with much of it left loose while one section is pulled back into a braid. She has three distinct bangs that fall across her forehead. Her typical outfit consists of a white blouse, a red jacket fastened with a belt, a blue skirt, and yellowish high-heeled pumps. She also wears a blue necklace composed of three circles.

Angela is highly ambitious and driven by the pursuit of a compelling story. Her actions demonstrate a willingness to publish sensational or unsubstantiated information to advance her career. For instance, after failing to secure an interview with the prominent duelist Yusei Fudo, she published an inflammatory article about him, labeling him the "alleged King" and suggesting he had cheated, all without obtaining a single comment from him. She is also shown to have a transactional relationship with the powerful figure Rex Goodwin, who contacts her directly to request she calm an angry crowd during a crisis, reminding her that he has done favors for her in the past, which she acknowledges.

Angela's primary role in the story is that of a newscaster who reports on the major events unfolding in the city, particularly those related to the Signers and the Dark Signers. She is present at many critical moments, covering the aftermath of the Fortune Cup and the destruction caused by the Earthbound Immortals. During the final battle against the Dark Signer Rex Goodwin, she is on site to report on the duel. When Goodwin summons the Earthbound Immortal Wiraqocha Rasca, Angela is among the people absorbed as a sacrifice to empower the creature. She, along with everyone else absorbed, was returned to normal following Goodwin's defeat. In later story arcs, she continues her reporting duties, informing the public about incidents involving an impostor Jack Atlas and the chaos during the World Racing Grand Prix. While she does not participate in duels, her ability lies in her role as a persistent and sometimes unscrupulous reporter, using her platform to shape public opinion and pursue her own professional success.
