Nadeshiko Sakura, mother of Shino Sakura, is a former member of the original Imperial Combat Revue, a group that protected Japan through combat and theatrical performances. Sixteen years before the main events, the Great Imperial Capital Disaster ravaged Tokyo. Japan rebuilt using a new spiritual energy source called Mirai. Despite apparent peace maintained by the government-backed Great Imperial Combat Revue B.L.A.C.K., Nadeshiko discerned the false prosperity and conspiracy upheld by the authorities.

Residing in Tokyo, Nadeshiko acted decisively, dispatching Yoshitaka Oishi to retrieve her daughter Shino from the remote island of Aogashima. This mission aimed to draw Shino into the conflict against the government and B.L.A.C.K. Though their departure was intercepted by B.L.A.C.K. member Prana Tosei, Yoshitaka escaped with Shino. Nadeshiko is determined to challenge the corrupt system and restore true peace to Japan, leveraging her daughter's potential role in a renewed Imperial Combat Revue.

Kirin Aoshima, another former member of the original Revue and Shino's guardian on Aogashima, shares a history of past service with Nadeshiko. Nadeshiko bears a noted physical resemblance to Sakura Shinguji. Her actions primarily catalyze the new Imperial Combat Revue's formation, positioning Shino and her companions to uncover government secrets and reclaim Japan.
