TV-Series
Description
Kurimatsu Teppei is a defender who has been with Raimon Junior High’s soccer club from its earliest, most uncertain days. He is one of the original seven members and appears right from the beginning, casually absorbed in a handheld game, suggesting that soccer initially meant little more to him than a pastime. His small stature and distinctive appearance set him apart: round black eyes, exaggerated front teeth that give him a chipmunk-like look, and a compact build that makes him one of the shortest players on the pitch. That appearance conceals a steadily growing courage and a knack for lifting the team’s spirits.

Personality-wise, Kurimatsu is cheerful, playful, and a reliable source of comic relief. He loves to have fun, and his lighthearted attitude helps defuse tension among his teammates. Underneath that humor, however, he harbors a nervous streak. When playing in front of a crowd, he often feels the weight of eyes on him, which can rattle his composure. Still, he never lets his anxiety hold him back for long, always finding the will to push through. His motivation transforms as the story progresses: what began as a casual hobby becomes a genuine passion. Being part of Raimon’s rise through the Football Frontier and later the challenges of international competition deepens his dedication, and he comes to see soccer as something worth fighting for with everything he has.

In terms of his role in the story, Kurimatsu is a steady defensive presence. He serves Raimon during the Football Frontier arc, then, under the corrupting influence of the Aliea meteorite, he temporarily joins the Dark Emperors. After that ordeal, he becomes a member of Inazuma Japan, representing his country on the world stage. His reliability and team-first mentality make him a mainstay even when more flamboyant players arrive. Following the graduation of Endou and the other third-year students, the responsibility of captaincy falls to Kurimatsu, and he leads a new generation of Raimon players, a testament to his growth from a casual beginner to a dependable leader.

Key relationships color his journey. He shares a particularly close bond with Kabeyama, another early member; their friendship, anchored in mutual support, often provides both comedic and heartfelt moments. He also connects well with Shourinji, the other notably small member of the early Raimon squad. Cooperation with Kazemaru and Shishido yields one of his signature combination techniques, and his trust in Endou’s never-say-die spirit helps him persevere through the team’s hardest trials.

Kurimatsu’s development is gradual but unmistakable. Early on he is easily fazed and treats soccer as mere entertainment, but matches against intimidating opponents like Teikoku Gakuen force him to confront his limits. By the time he wears the Inazuma Japan uniform, he has become a disciplined athlete who thrives under pressure. His eventual rise to captain of Raimon marks the culmination of that journey: the once-nervous boy who played video games in the clubroom now shoulders the dreams of a new generation.

His abilities grow in tandem with his character. In his first season he develops Dash Accel, a speed-based move that lets him burst past opponents. During the Aliea arc, the meteorite’s power enables him to perform Triple Boost alongside Kazemaru and Shishido, a cooperative strike that embodies his growing synergy with teammates. Later, as a member of Inazuma Japan, he masters Maborashi Dribble, an elusive dribbling technique, and Spinning Cut, a sharp defensive maneuver. These hissatsu techniques reflect his evolution from a supporting piece to a player who can turn the tide of a match with clever timing and unwavering spirit.
