TV-Series
Description
Godric Wyles, also known as Kenzaki Ryuuichi in the original Japanese version, is a character from the Inazuma Eleven series, specifically serving as a key figure in the second story arc. He is introduced as the personal assistant to Astram Schiller, the leader of the Alius Academy. Physically, Wyles is an adult male with distinctive short green hair and black eyes. In the tactical layout of the soccer field, he operates as a midfielder with a Forest element affinity.

Behind his professional and outwardly loyal demeanor, Godric Wyles is a deeply deceptive and ruthless individual. He initially appears to be a dedicated assistant to Schiller, but this is a facade masking a singular hunger for personal power. Wyles is not motivated by the Alius Academy's original goals but rather sees it as a means to an end. He is driven by a desire to use the immense power of the Alius Meteorite to conquer the world, believing himself to be superior and destined to rule. His personality is defined by its calculated cruelty; he is well-mannered and civil only when it serves his purposes, showing no hesitation in endangering or manipulating others to achieve his ambitions.

Wyles’s role in the story shifts dramatically from a subordinate to the primary antagonist following the defeat of Alius Academy. After Schiller and the elite Genesis team are defeated by Raimon, Wyles betrays his master. He activates a self-destruct system at the Alius headquarters, seemingly uncaring that it would kill Schiller and the defeated Genesis players, and escapes with fragments of the Alius Crystal. His true plan then unfolds. He preys on the emotional vulnerabilities and desperation of former Raimon players who are hospitalized, including Nathan Swift, Shadow Cimmeran, and others. By exploiting their weaknesses and offering them power, he brainwashes them into forming a new, ruthless team called the Dark Emperors. To further his scheme, he takes the Raimon student body hostage and even brainwashes the veteran Inazuma Eleven players to act as obstacles, forcing Mark Evans and the remaining Raimon team into a final, emotionally devastating match against their own corrupted friends.

Key relationships

Key relationships are central to Wyles’s narrative. His relationship with Astram Schiller is one of pure opportunism; he is never truly loyal, diligently serving only as a means to get close to the Alius Meteorite's power before discarding his master without remorse. His most significant, yet impersonal, relationship is with the players he manipulates. He views former heroes like Nathan Swift not as people but as tools to be weaponized, preying on their insecurities to turn them into "supreme hyper-soldiers" under his control. This creates a direct adversarial relationship with Mark Evans and the loyal Raimon members, who must fight to save their friends.

Wyles’s character arc concludes with his exposure and defeat. After Raimon manages to break the Dark Emperors from his brainwashing, reminding them of their love for football, Wyles loses his hold over them and his bid for power fails. His schemes result in his arrest by the authorities, bringing his plan for world conquest to a definitive end.

Regarding notable abilities, Godric Wyles’s primary power is not athletic but strategic and psychological. His most effective ability is his skill as a master manipulator, allowing him to identify and exploit the emotional weaknesses of young players to turn them against their ideals. While he does step onto the field as a player and manager, his on-field abilities are secondary to his role as a controller, organizing the Dark Emperors from a managerial position. In the game, he is classified as a "manager" with the ability to play in-game as a midfielder, possessing high stats in Technique and Intelligence. However, his true weapon is the Alius Crystal fragments, which he uses to augment the power of his brainwashed players, making them formidable opponents not through his own physical might, but through his cunning application of external power.
