Description
Maxwell "Max" Carson is the English name for Matsuno Kuusuke, a supporting character in Inazuma Eleven. He is a student at Raimon Middle School and plays as a forward, later switching to a midfielder when he temporarily joins the Dark Emperors. Max has light skin, round black eyes, short orange hair, and is often seen wearing a beanie. He is average in height and build.

Max was one of the earliest members of the Raimon soccer club, joining when the team had only seven players. Before soccer, he had tried many other sports and was considered multi-talented, which made him a well-rounded athlete. His initial interest in the club was sparked by a genuine curiosity when he saw the team's determination. Max has a playful, lighthearted personality and often serves as the class clown of the group, but he is warm-hearted and genuinely cares for his teammates. He is described as a jack-of-all-trades on the pitch, meaning he has balanced skills rather than excelling in just one area.

His motivations are tied to supporting his friends and enjoying soccer. He does not seek the spotlight but is a reliable team player. In terms of role, Max is a supporting character whose presence helps fill out Raimon's roster. He later becomes a candidate for the national team Inazuma Japan but is not selected. During the second season, he and some other Raimon players are turned into the Dark Emperors by the Aliea Academy's influence, and in that arc he plays as a midfielder. After the team is freed, he returns to Raimon.

Max has close relationships with his Raimon teammates, especially those he performs combination moves with. He teams up with Handa to use Revolution V and with Kazemaru and Someoka to use Dark Phoenix, both of which are empowered by the Aliea meteorite. His personal special technique is Cross Drive, a shot he uses on his own. These abilities are his notable contributions during matches.

Character development for Max is subtle. He begins as a casual multi-sport participant who finds a home in soccer, then matures through the challenges Raimon faces. Though he does not become a star player, his loyalty and willingness to grow are evident. He remains a steady presence in the background of the main story, providing comic relief and dependable support.
