TV-Series
Description
Daisuke Endō is the maternal grandfather of the protagonist, Endō Mamoru, and serves as a foundational figure within the soccer world of the series. Born in Fukuoka, he began playing soccer there before transferring to Raimon Junior High School. During his youth, his appearance was strikingly similar to that of his grandson, complete with a comparable headband, and he was described as a passionate, energetic "soccer idiot" who loved the sport wholeheartedly. In his later years, he was characterized by a grey beard and often wore sunglasses, concealing his identity for a significant period.

As a player, Daisuke was a legendary goalkeeper considered one of the strongest of his era, renowned for developing numerous powerful techniques. After his playing career, he became the coach of the original legendary team known as the Inazuma Eleven at Raimon Junior High. However, en route to the Football Frontier finals, his team's bus was involved in an accident orchestrated by Kageyama Reiji. Following this incident, he was presumed dead for many years, which had a profound impact on his family, particularly his grandson who idolized him.

Despite his presumed death, Daisuke survived and fled overseas to the Republic of Côte d'Ar, also known as Côte d'Ar, to escape the clutches of Kageyama and the larger threat of Garshield Beyhan. While in exile, he continued his passion for soccer by training local children. Eventually, these children formed the formidable national team Little Gigant, with Daisuke serving as their coach under the assumed name of Alaya Daisuke. His primary motivation during this period was to remain hidden to protect his family while also gathering evidence to expose the conspiracy that led to his accident. He eventually became the final opponent for the Japanese national team, Inazuma Japan, seeking to test the limits of his grandson's team on the world stage.

Daisuke's personality is kind, warmhearted, and deeply caring towards his family and players. He shares his grandson's unwavering perseverance and ability to encourage others. His passion for soccer was so immense that he recorded his secrets, techniques, and philosophies in a set of training notebooks. His handwriting in these notes is notoriously chaotic, featuring abstract drawings and sound effects, making it unreadable to most people. The few individuals who can decipher his writing include his grandson Mamoru, Fuyuka Kudō, and Fuyuka's father. These notebooks contained not only his playing wisdom but also his unconventional methods for developing new hissatsu techniques, believing that the source of technique is the strength of the mind.

Throughout the story, Daisuke's role evolves from a distant, inspirational legacy to a direct mentor. He serves as a temporary coach for Raimon during the events of Inazuma Eleven GO Chrono Stone, where he is known in the future as the legendary "Master D." His key relationships include his close friend, the principal of Yokato Junior High, with whom he trained during his youth. His bond with his grandson, Endō Mamoru, is central; it is through deciphering his notebook and eventually meeting him in person that Mamoru grows as both a player and a person. He also shares a significant relationship with Rococo Urupa, the goalkeeper of Little Gigant, whom he trained to become a world-class player. Other connections include Seigo Hibiki, a player from his original Inazuma Eleven team, and Natsumi Raimon, who helps uncover the truth of his survival.

Daisuke's most notable abilities lie in his expertise as a goalkeeper and coach. He developed a vast arsenal of techniques recorded in his notes, including legendary moves such as God Hand, Majin the Hand, Mugen the Hand, and the powerful combination shot The Earth. His coaching ability is demonstrated by his success in leading both the original Inazuma Eleven and later, Little Gigant, to the highest levels of competition. In his younger days, his physical prowess was so extraordinary that he was said to have used a soccer ball to hunt wild boar, smashing trees with the force of his shots.
