Description
Masashi Edogawa is a student at Souei High School and a classmate of the protagonist, Saku Oyagi. Although he is officially a member of the Photography Club, he frequently participates in the activities of the Astronomy Club and can often be found at their meetings and stargazing events. His presence in the club is motivated by more than just an interest in the stars; he is openly drawn to the club’s female members—Mihoshi Akeno, Sayo Yarai, and Hime Makita—whom he considers very attractive, and he occasionally expresses envy toward Saku for being surrounded by them. At the same time, he does have a genuine appreciation for astronomy and actively joins in observations and club projects.

Edogawa’s background is that of a typical high school student who enjoys photography, and he uses his skills to help the Astronomy Club by taking pictures of the night sky. However, his primary interest in photography leans toward taking pictures of pretty girls rather than celestial objects. His personality is friendly and outgoing, and he serves as a casual friend to Saku and the other club members, adding a lighthearted and slightly mischievous element to their group. He tends to be straightforward about his motivations, not hiding his admiration for the club’s girls, but he also displays a cooperative and helpful nature when the group works together on activities such as joint observations with other schools.

In the story, Edogawa’s role is that of a supporting character and a classmate friend who bridges the Astronomy and Photography Clubs. He does not undergo major personal development, but he remains a consistent presence throughout the series, often teasing Saku or adding comedic commentary. His notable ability is his photography skill, which he applies to capture images of the sky and the people around him. Key relationships include his friendship with Saku, his easygoing interactions with the Astronomy Club members, and his occasional rivalry or camaraderie with other male characters. Overall, Edogawa is a cheerful, somewhat opportunistic student whose dual interests in photography and astronomy make him a useful and entertaining part of the group.
