Description
Morgan is a member of the Gael Tribe and serves as the Second Warrior of the clan, a childhood friend to both Arthur and Rhiannon. Her thinking is straightforward, and she has a strong love for hunting and eating. As an energetic warrior, she is the only woman in the tribe who actively enjoys joining the men in combat and hunting expeditions. She frequently competes with Arthur for the title of First Warrior, though she never manages to defeat him. Morgan also has a notable drinking problem, often consuming so much alcohol that she either attacks Arthur in a drunken rage or passes out entirely.
Her primary weapon is a bow, and her archery skill is unmatched within the tribe, though she also wields a curved dagger for close-quarters combat. Morgan first encounters Arawn after failing her assigned task of securing boats for the Gael clan's escape from Erin island. Distraught over her failure, she attacks Arawn without knowing his identity. He easily defeats her, and when Arthur explains that the punishment for failing a task assigned by the First Warrior is death, Arawn instead claims Morgan as his own, which translates into her becoming his second wife. This union is not born of romance initially but rather from Arawn's desire to avoid pointless bloodshed.
Morgan's role in the story is that of a loyal and capable fighter who supports the Gael tribe's exodus and struggles against the Holy Empire. She develops a close friendship with Octavia, seeing her as a fellow female warrior whose personality complements her own. Morgan's motivations are simple: she loves to hunt, eat, fight, and protect her people. Over time, she becomes a dependable member of Arawn's group, contributing her exceptional archery and straightforward combat style to the tribe's efforts. Her development is subtle, as she remains true to her energetic and simple nature throughout the story, though she learns to channel her impulsiveness into more disciplined action under the leadership of Arawn and alongside her comrades.
