Description
Andróide 17, also known by his human name Lapis, is a character introduced as an antagonist who later becomes a crucial ally. Originally a human delinquent, he and his twin sister, Lazuli (who becomes Andróide 18), were kidnapped by the mad scientist Dr. Gero. Gero forcibly restructured them into powerful cybernetic beings, intended to serve his vendetta against the protagonist Goku. Despite this programming, Andróide 17 retains free will and almost immediately rebels against his creator.
In his initial appearance, Andróide 17 has a reckless, anarchistic, and carefree personality. He views the world as his playground and his mission to kill Goku as a simple game, finding amusement in causing panic and chaos.
