Description
Flora Skybloom is the crown princess of the Azure Kingdom, a fact she initially keeps hidden as she moves among the common citizens of Earthdash. Early in the story, while on an official inspection tour, she arrives in Rolling Town and witnesses a dynamic Basquash match featuring Dan JD. Profoundly moved by the energy and spirit of the sport, she decides to flee her sheltered royal life to pursue this newfound passion. To protect her identity and move freely, she adopts the male persona of Alan Naismith, a name she chooses as a tribute to the historical inventor of basketball.

As a person, Flora is characterized by a quiet but determined rebellious streak. Despite her elegant and reserved demeanor, which reflects her noble upbringing, she possesses a strong inner resolve to break free from the constraints of her royal duties. She is observant and thoughtful, often displaying a maturity that aids the group in strategic situations. This sense of adventure and defiance against her predetermined role is what drives her to leave the palace and join the world of Big Foot Basketball. Flora has a girlish and sincere side, as she gradually develops romantic feelings for Dan JD, though she expresses this affection subtly.

Flora is distinguished by a unique and almost supernatural ability. She possesses a heightened sixth sense that allows her to perceive information through the wind, or to feel "destiny on the wind." This power enables her to sense pivotal moments, intense emotions, or significant events occurring around her, such as sensing a player's fury or recognizing a fateful encounter during a critical match. Her motivation throughout the story is intrinsically linked to this sensitivity; she runs away to chase the feelings of destiny and excitement she experiences when watching the sport, seeking to become an active participant in the world of Basquash rather than a passive observer.

In the narrative, Flora serves as a key bridge between the royal establishment and the street-level world of Basquash. Her role evolves from a spectator to an active team member. After adopting the Alan Naismith alias, she receives coaching in basketball fundamentals from Coco JD, Dan's sister, allowing her to transition from a novice to a player capable of holding her own on the court. Her connections to the other characters are significant. She shares a close bond with Dan JD, acting as a companion who supports him and eventually joins him on his quest to save the world, motivated by her respect for his pure approach to the game. Her relationship with her family, specifically her father the king, is initially defined by her escape from duty, but she later returns to the kingdom to confront her responsibilities.

Flora experiences considerable development, especially regarding her dual identity. For much of the story, she lives as Alan, hiding her status as princess. A critical turning point occurs when she publicly reveals her true identity as the princess to assist Dan, signifying her acceptance of her heritage without letting it define her entirely. She acknowledges that her journey as Alan has prepared her for a new path as Flora Skybloom. This moment solidifies her transition from a runaway royal to an independent Basquasher who chooses to fight alongside her friends to save the world from a planetary collision, thereby completing her arc from passive princess to active hero. Physically, she is recognized as a teenage girl with green eyes and purple, curly hair that reaches her shoulders.
