TV-Series
Description
Jerry, often called Mr. Policeman by Sora Naegino and her friends, is a character present from the very first episode of the series. He works as an officer at the Cape Mary police station, and his first interaction with the protagonist occurs when he gives her a ride to the Kaleido Stage, having mistaken her for a runaway child. In terms of appearance, Jerry is one of the few characters depicted with a different racial background. He has a very muscular build, which he developed as a result of being picked on during his childhood. On duty, he typically wears a white t-shirt with blue stripes on the sleeves, grey shorts, a matching grey hat, and blue and white trainers.
Despite his imposing and strong physique, Jerry is an extremely gentle, kind, and supportive individual. He becomes an avid fan of the Kaleido Stage after learning of Sora's dream to perform there, proudly calling himself her number one fan. He is also a devoted romantic at heart. Jerry's primary role in the story is that of a steadfast supporter and audience member. He is always present in the crowd for Sora's performances whenever his work schedule permits, acting as a reliable pillar of encouragement. His key relationships are defined by this warmth and support. He shares a clear father-daughter bond with Sora, and his care for her is evident in his constant attendance at her shows and his unwavering belief in her success. He also shares a friendly rivalry of sorts with Ken Robbins, jokingly dubbing him Sora's number two fan. Jerry's most significant personal storyline is his relationship with Kate, which culminates in a memorable proposal. Flustered and nervous as his thirtieth birthday approaches, he enlists Sora and Ken's help to find her. After a bank robbery incident where he is tied up, Sora uses her performance to calm the criminal. Once free, Jerry proposes to Kate with the embarrassedly romantic line about wanting to place her under eternal arrest, to which she joyfully agrees. His character sees a moment of development when he reveals the childhood insecurity that motivated him to build up his body. In terms of notable abilities, beyond his physical strength as a police officer, his most defining trait is his unwavering loyalty and his role as an enthusiastic spectator who genuinely understands and appreciates the power of performance.
