Description
Takafumi Yokozawa, nicknamed "The Wild Bear of Marukawa" by colleagues in Marukawa Publishing's sales department, intimidates others with frequent scowls, a quick temper, and rare professional smiles. Despite maintaining distance from coworkers, his work ethic earns respect, positioning him as a role model for subordinate Henmi Masakazu. His solitary childhood—marked by parents often occupied with work—fostered lingering insecurities he actively conceals, though he understood their love.

During college, he formed a close bond with Masamune Takano. After a drunken encounter led them to sleep together, Yokozawa developed unrequited romantic feelings, mistakenly believing Takano needed time before commitment. He supported Takano through an emotional breakdown triggered by family issues and heartbreak, even taking custody of Takano’s cat, Sorata.

Upon discovering Ritsu Onodera as the person who previously hurt Takano, Yokozawa treated Onodera with hostility and possessiveness, demanding he stay away—behavior rooted in unresolved feelings. After Takano explicitly rejected him to pursue Onodera, Yokozawa endured heartbreak but gradually accepted it. He later acknowledged Onodera’s professional skills, warning him not to hurt Takano again.

While drinking alone post-rejection, Yokozawa encountered Zen Kirishima, a Marukawa editor who had noticed him earlier. Kirishima returned to the bar despite bad weather, assisted a heavily intoxicated Yokozawa, and later used potentially embarrassing photos as leverage for contact—though their connection evolved into genuine companionship. Yokozawa formed a paternal bond with Kirishima’s young daughter, Hiyori, eventually developing romantic feelings for Kirishima. Their relationship became official, though Yokozawa insisted on initial privacy.

He displays a tsundere personality, blushing easily during Kirishima’s interactions—where Kirishima teasingly calls him "mama" for his nurturing household role. Yokozawa excels at cooking, chores, and childcare, demonstrating unexpected warmth and patience with Hiyori and animals. Yet he frequently considers ending the relationship, fearing societal judgment, Hiyori’s potential disapproval, or Kirishima finding a more suitable partner. He also battles guilt over intruding on the memory of Kirishima’s late wife, Sakura. Kirishima reassures him Sakura would want their happiness and that Yokozawa is no replacement.

The relationship mellows Yokozawa’s temperament, making him more approachable at work. He gifts Sorata to Hiyori. After a colleague’s wedding, Kirishima expressed anxiety about Hiyori’s future marriage and his own loneliness. Yokozawa responded by vowing to "not let him die alone"—a statement Kirishima interpreted as a lifelong commitment. Yokozawa did not refute this.
