Description
Lan Feihong is a 16-year-old genius chef and one of the central characters in Cooking Master Boy. He is widely regarded as the only cook who can be considered a true rival to the protagonist, Liu Mao Xing, and is often described as being even more knowledgeable than Mao in culinary technique. In appearance, he has long light brown or blonde hair that reaches down his back, with black eyes, and he typically wears a headband and armband.

Feihong's early life was marked by tragedy. His entire family was killed by a mysterious organization, later revealed to be the Dark Cooking Society, which then kidnapped him. He was subjected to brutal, torturous training every day, forced to create perfect dishes under the threat of physical punishment. This experience made him associate cooking with pain and suffering. He eventually escaped and collapsed in front of the Kikkaro Restaurant, where Mao's mother, Pai, found him. Pai treated his wounds, fed him herbal soup, and showed him that cooking could bring happiness to others. This encounter transformed his view of the culinary arts, and after learning from Pai, he traveled across China to hone his skills.

Feihong first appears as one of Mao's opponents during the Super Chef tournament. He initially seems cold and distant, but he secretly helps Mao several times during the competition. Remarkably, both he and Mao pass the Super Chef test at the same time, an unprecedented achievement. After the tournament, Feihong disappears for a while. When Mao encounters him again, Feihong has become a chef for the Dark Cooking Society and is on the verge of becoming the Head Chef of the Imperial Kitchen. Mao, unable to believe that Feihong has turned evil, challenges him to a cooking duel judged by the Emperor. Mao wins and discovers that Feihong has been manipulated, having been drugged by the Dark Cooking Society to become their pawn. The Legendary Cooking Utensils heal Feihong's mind, and he reveals that he infiltrated the Dark Cooking Society seeking revenge for his parents, only to be captured and drugged.

After his recovery, General Lee orders Feihong to protect Mao on his journey to find the remaining Legendary Cooking Utensils, thus Feihong joins Mao's group. Later, Feihong is acknowledged by the legendary Garuda Knife, but he is terrified by its power and throws it away. In his final appearance, he duels Mao in the Forbidden Palace, and the battle ends in a draw. Afterward, Feihong decides to copy all the recipes known in the imperial palace and then travels with Mao to make those recipes known throughout China.

Feihong's personality is calm, collected, and methodical, in contrast to Mao's more passionate and impulsive nature. Despite his reserved demeanor, he cares deeply about others and is motivated by a desire to atone for his past actions and to use cooking to bring joy. His key relationships include Mao, whom he respects as both a rival and a friend; Pai, whom he regards as his savior; and General Lee, who gives him a chance at redemption. His development is striking: from a traumatized child who hated cooking, to a cold but gifted competitor, to a manipulated antagonist, and finally to a redeemed ally dedicated to spreading culinary knowledge. His abilities are exceptional; he is considered more knowledgeable than Mao, and his precise, organized cooking style makes him a formidable chef in any competition.
