Description
Nemu Kurotsuchi is the lieutenant of the 12th Division in the Gotei 13, serving under Captain Mayuri Kurotsuchi. She is an artificially created being, the final successful result of Mayuri's Project Nemuri, which combined his research on artificial bodies and artificial souls. Originally designated Nemuri Number Seven, she was later simply called Nemu after proving to be a successful creation.
In terms of background, Nemu was formed from Mayuri's own blood and technology, making her a one-of-a-kind artificial lifeform within Soul Society. The six earlier iterations of the project all failed, with some unable to walk or talk and others dying at a young age.
