Description
There are two distinct characters named Oscar in the Lupin the Third anime franchise, each appearing in a different series.

The first is the Oscar who appears in episode 101 of Lupin III: Part II. This Oscar is a beautiful French aristocrat who serves as an executive member of a secret society called the Black Lily Clique, a group that sought to establish a new French aristocracy without the monarchy. Despite presenting and being addressed as a man, this Oscar is in fact a woman disguised as a man, and the character is modeled after Oscar François de Jarjayes, the protagonist of the manga The Rose of Versailles. In her episode, Oscar recruits Lupin to help steal the crown of Marie Antoinette, making her a client and temporary ally of Lupin for a specific heist. Her motivation is tied to the political goals of the Black Lily Clique, and her role in the story is that of an elegant and secretive noblewoman operating behind a masculine identity to pursue those goals. Her notable abilities include her skill at maintaining a convincing masculine disguise, her aristocratic standing and connections within French high society, and her position of authority within a clandestine organization.

The second is Lieutenant Oscar from the spin-off series The Woman Called Fujiko Mine. He is a police lieutenant who serves as Inspector Zenigata's second in command, and he functions as a secondary antagonist within the story. He is a young man with a somewhat feminine appearance, long curly brown hair, and a coat possibly based on a naval commander's uniform with brass buttons at the sleeves, torso, and collar. His body is slightly hourglass shaped, which makes it easy for him to disguise himself as a woman. His personality is defined by an intense admiration for Zenigata, whom he idolizes and toward whom he holds strong romantic feelings. These feelings shape his motivations, as much of his behavior is driven by a desire to earn Zenigata's approval, remain close to him, and protect their working relationship. In the story, he works alongside Zenigata in pursuing Fujiko Mine and other figures connected to the larger criminal plot, and his role centers on his loyalty to his superior and his place within the police hierarchy. His notable abilities include his competence as a police officer, his investigative work in support of Zenigata's operations, and his talent for disguise, aided by his androgynous physical appearance. His development within the series revolves around his complicated personal feelings for Zenigata and how those feelings influence his actions and judgment as an officer.
