Description
Malek Werner is the adopted younger brother of Amanda Werner, a member of the XAT. Before his adoption, his name was Malek Yildrim, and he was an orphan living in an institution after his parents died in a car accident. Despite her young age, Amanda took him in. He is a devoted fan of the motorcycle champion Gerd Frentzen, whom he idolizes as a symbol of strength and justice. At school, Malek is constantly bullied and discriminated against by older students because of his immigrant background. He routinely skips classes to avoid the harassment, but he keeps the extent of his suffering hidden from his sister, not wanting to burden her.

Malek is initially portrayed as an anguished and withdrawn teenager, struggling with feelings of powerlessness and resentment. His faith in justice is shattered when Gerd Frentzen, the hero he looked up to, is killed in front of him. Malek had believed that Gerd would one day punish his tormentors, but Gerd's death makes him feel abandoned. When a school friend who had participated in the bullying later commits suicide, Malek is left questioning why no one will stand up for the innocent.

Driven by a desire for vengeance, Malek accepts a pill from Beatrice and transforms into an Amalgam, a biomechanical human hybrid. With his new powers, he initially believes he can act as a protector who punishes oppressors in whatever way he sees fit. He hunts down and brutally kills the delinquents who tormented him, but his actions quickly draw the attention of the XAT, forcing him to flee. During his rampage, he is confronted by Joseph Jobson, another Amalgam who had previously saved him from bullies. Malek flees with the wounded Joseph and attempts to protect him, but he is easily defeated by the antagonist Magwald Xargin after picking a fight with him. He eventually falls into a coma and is captured by the XAT along with Joseph.

Despite his troubled path, Malek undergoes notable development over the course of the series. He transforms from a vulnerable, bitter boy consumed by a desire for revenge into a character who takes on a more heroic role, eventually becoming a successor to Joseph's mission. His journey reflects themes of disillusionment, the search for justice, and the difficult transition from victim to protector. In terms of abilities, as an Amalgam Malek gains enhanced strength, durability, and the capacity to generate protective shields, but his initial inexperience and emotional instability lead him to reckless confrontations.
