Description
Kazuharu Fukuyama, most often referred to simply as Fukuyama, is a major character who frequently serves as a de facto antagonist. He is a wealthy and privileged student whose actions are largely driven by his overt and aggressive perversion, which he pursues with considerable resources and creativity. Fukuyama consistently schemes to get close to female characters, particularly Kirie Kojima and Miharu Sena Kanaka, with the aim of receiving sexual favors from them. His obsession is most intensely focused on Kirie; he has gone to extravagant lengths, such as organizing tournaments and employing black magic, with the primary goal of seeing her nude or groping her. This fixation is so profound that he maintains a shrine dedicated to her breasts in his closet. Despite his lecherous nature, he is not a purely villainous figure and displays a more honorable, protective side.
One of his defining traits is a severe case of androphobia, an intense aversion to males that manifests as a physical rash or hives whenever he comes into contact with another man. This condition ironically mirrors the protagonist's fear of women, creating a parallel between the two rivals. His contempt for the main character, Yukinari Sasaki, is a constant presence, as he sees Yukinari as a rival for the attention of the women he desires. He strongly disapproves of his younger sister, Lisa Fukuyama, being attracted to Yukinari. While he treats Yukinari with disdain throughout most of the story, his attitude does soften into something friendlier as time passes.
Fukuyama's role in the story is to create obstacles and comedic conflict for Yukinari and the female leads. His schemes are elaborate and often involve his family’s vast wealth, advanced technology, or magical artifacts to set up situations where he can corner his targets. In these schemes, he frequently partners with his sister Lisa, who is a powerful but reckless black magic user.
His key relationships are complex. He is extremely protective of his younger sister Lisa, worried and attentive when she is in danger, yet he is also exasperated by her affection for Yukinari. A significant relationship develops with the young girl Tomoka Lana Jude. When he finds her lost, he shows genuine kindness and compassion, guiding her to safety. This act establishes a sibling-like bond between them, with Tomoka eventually calling him big brother, and they often team up for various adventures. His genuine feelings for Kirie become more apparent over time, culminating in a moment where he is willing to injure himself to protect her, suggesting his obsession has evolved into something resembling authentic care.
In terms of abilities, Kazuharu does not possess supernatural powers like many other characters. Instead, his influence comes from his family’s immense wealth, allowing him to bankroll his elaborate schemes. He is also a skilled marksman and user of firearms, and he employs stealth and manipulation to achieve his goals. Developmentally, while he never fully abandons his perverted ways, he demonstrates growth by developing genuine protective instincts and a capacity for kindness towards those he considers part of his inner circle, like his sister and Tomoka, and by showing a hidden depth of feeling for Kirie.
