Description
Kusu Kusu is a Guardian Character who belongs to Rima Mashiro, a member of the student council Guardians at Seiyo Elementary School. She was born from Rima’s sincere wish to make everyone around her laugh and to share in the joy of comedy. Her very existence is tied to Rima’s love of stand-up comedians and her deep desire to lighten the mood, no matter the situation.
In appearance, Kusu Kusu is a small, doll-like being dressed in a full-body clown outfit. She has very long, straight blonde hair and bright orange eyes. Under one eye there is a star-shaped marking, and under the other a teardrop, which gives her a distinct and memorable look. Her clothing is patterned with polka dots and she wears a jester-style cap, completing the playful clown motif.
Kusu Kusu has a bubbly and cheerful personality. She constantly seeks to amuse those around her, performing spontaneous gags and pulling funny faces at random moments. Her main motivation is to draw out smiles, especially from Rima. Whenever her owner feels angry, sad, or distressed, Kusu Kusu appears and tries to cheer her up by making comical expressions. If Rima fails to smile, the little Guardian Character becomes discouraged, showing how seriously she takes her role as a source of laughter.
The bond between Kusu Kusu and Rima is central to both of their roles in the story. Through a Character Change, Kusu Kusu temporarily alters Rima’s personality, causing the same star and teardrop markings to appear under Rima’s eyes and infusing her with a more lighthearted, comedic demeanor. When they combine more fully in a Character Transformation, Rima becomes Clown Drop, a form that draws upon Kusu Kusu’s clown-like essence to boost Rima’s abilities in purification battles. In this state, Rima gains enhanced agility and attacks inspired by circus performance and the playful trickery of a jester.
