Description
Bunny Tsukino, also known by her civilian identity as Usagi Tsukino and her superheroine name Sailor Moon, is the main protagonist of the anime Sailor Moon SuperS. In this series, she is a fifteen-year-old schoolgirl living in the Azabu-Jūban district of Tokyo with her parents, Kenji and Ikuko Tsukino, and her younger brother, Shingo. Her name, which means "Rabbit of the Moon," is a nod to her whimsical nature and lunar associations, while her most recognizable features are her long blonde hair, styled into two distinctive odango buns, and her blue eyes.

Personality-wise, Bunny is famously cheerful, kind-hearted, and optimistic, but she is also notably clumsy, lazy, and a frequent crybaby. She has a strong aversion to studying, particularly mathematics and English, and much prefers eating sweets, playing video games, reading manga, and sleeping. Despite her lack of academic motivation, she excels in home economics. Her great dream in life is to one day get married and become a bride, reflecting her deeply romantic and somewhat traditional outlook. Underneath her immature and often silly exterior, however, lies an immense capacity for compassion and empathy. She possesses an unwavering belief in the goodness of others and hates to see anyone suffer, which frequently drives her actions as a hero.

Throughout Sailor Moon SuperS, Bunny's primary motivation is to protect the innocent people of Earth from the forces of the Dead Moon Circus, a villainous organization that seeks to find the legendary Golden Crystal and cover the world in nightmares. Her role in the story is that of the leader and heart of the Sailor Guardians, though this season places a greater emphasis on her partner in battle, Chibiusa, and their shared connection with a mystical being named Pegasus. Bunny fights not for glory or revenge but to safeguard the happiness of her friends, her boyfriend Mamoru Chiba, and the world she loves.

Her key relationships heavily define her character. Her romance with Mamoru Chiba, the masked hero Tuxedo Mask, is a central pillar of the series. In SuperS, this bond is tested as Mamoru's life becomes spiritually linked to the health of the Earth, making him physically vulnerable to the Dead Moon Circus's dark magic. Bunny's love for him is a source of immense strength and a recurring catalyst for her power. Equally important is her dynamic with Chibiusa, her future daughter from the 30th century. While the two often bicker like sisters over small matters, they share a deep, unbreakable bond. In SuperS, their relationship evolves as they unite to protect Pegasus, with Bunny acting as a mentor and protector to the younger girl despite their constant teasing. She also relies heavily on her loyal talking cat advisor, Luna, and her fellow Sailor Guardians, including Sailors Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and Venus, who support her in battle and her daily life.

In terms of development, Sailor Moon SuperS showcases Bunny continuing to grow from the reluctant and insecure heroine of earlier seasons into a more confident and capable young woman. While she retains her signature cheerful and sometimes emotional demeanor, she demonstrates greater resolve and leadership in the face of danger. A significant part of her development in this season is her embrace of the power granted by Pegasus, learning to trust her heart and the strength of her dreams to achieve new transformations.

As a warrior, Bunny fights as Super Sailor Moon, an advanced form she uses throughout this series. This powerful transformation grants her new abilities and a more ornate uniform, replacing her standard tiara with a golden crescent moon on her forehead and adding wing-like shoulder pads and a white skirt with a gradient hem. Her primary abilities in this form are channeled through the power of the legendary Silver Crystal, a mystical artifact of immense power that resides within her. One of her signature attacks during this period is Moon Gorgeous Meditation, an offensive technique that she performs using the Kaleidomoon Scope, a heart-shaped wand given to her by Pegasus. In desperate moments, the power of her pure heart and her allies allows her to perform even grander miracles, often culminating in the use of the Moon Chalice to unleash a powerful purifying rainbow. Her combat style does not rely on physical strength or martial arts; rather, she excels at healing, purification, and redeeming her enemies rather than destroying them, often crying over the villains she is forced to fight and offering them a chance at salvation. This deep well of love and compassion is consistently portrayed as her greatest weapon and the source of her ultimate strength.
