Momoka Hanakomachi is a three-year-old girl introduced as the younger cousin of Christine Hanakomachi. She has red eyes and brown hair that is usually styled in a side ponytail. Momoka is frequently seen riding her small red tricycle while roaming around the town or visiting the Saionji Temple to play with the alien baby Ruu. From the moment she meets Ruu, she declares him her boyfriend and states her intention to marry him, showing a precocious and assertive romantic attachment. She also develops an odd grudge against Miyu, whom she deliberately addresses as Madam or obā-chan – a term for an elderly woman or grandmother – which consistently irritates Miyu. Momoka’s role in the story is primarily as a supporting character who provides comic relief through her blunt interactions and her fierce, childlike possessiveness over Ruu. In the episode titled Momoka’s Passport, she becomes one of the first people outside of Miyu and Kanata to discover the secret of Ruu and Wannya being aliens when she sees Ruu flying to retrieve a balloon. From that point onward, she actively helps keep the secret, making her an ally in the main characters’ efforts to conceal the aliens’ presence. Her motivations are driven by her affection for Ruu and her mischievous desire to tease Miyu. Over the course of the series, Momoka does not undergo significant personality change, remaining consistently headstrong and confident for her age. Her key relationships include her infatuation with Ruu, her cousin Christine, her ongoing teasing of Miyu, and her friendlier interactions with Kanata and Wannya. She has no extraordinary abilities; her notable traits are her determination, her keen observational skills (which allowed her to discover the secret), and her unfiltered way of speaking.
