TV-Series
Description
Nanami Tenchi is a supporting character in the anime and manga series Daa! Daa! Daa!, also known as UFO Baby. She is a classmate of the main protagonists, Miyu Kozuki and Kanata Saionji, and one of the first friends Miyu makes after transferring to her new school. Nanami has short brown hair, described as brunet, and is the tallest among her friend group. Her appearance is often associated with a taste for old‑fashioned styles of clothing.

In terms of personality, Nanami is playful, energetic, and outgoing, though she can become easily tired after a demanding task. She has a notably large appetite. She is also practical, sensible, and down‑to‑earth, lacking any tendency toward strange or senseless behavior. A bit tomboyish, she enjoys sports. She is not among the many girls who are fans of Kanata, which sets her apart from much of the female student body.

Nanami’s role in the story is that of a loyal and supportive friend. She frequently goes shopping with Miyu and their mutual friend Aya Konishi. She is kind‑hearted and always willing to help others. After Miyu and Kanata begin caring for the alien baby Ruu, Nanami becomes one of the few people who assist in looking after him. She is also a skilled cook and often prepares meals for the group. Additionally, she is a member of the school newspaper club and enjoys writing articles, showing a keen interest in journalism. Her journalistic skills occasionally help the group keep Ruu’s true identity secret.

Her key relationships are central to her character. She is a very good friend of Miyu, often seen accompanying her, and she is best friends with Aya Konishi; the two are almost always together. She is also a supportive acquaintance to Kanata, though she does not share the romantic interest that many other girls have in him. While not directly involved in the main alien‑baby caretaking dynamic, she is a trusted confidante and helper.

Nanami does not undergo a dramatic personal development arc; she remains a steady, reliable presence throughout the series. Her most notable abilities are her practical sense, her cooking talent, and her journalistic writing, which she uses to contribute to the group’s efforts and to the school newspaper.
