Description
Hidekichi Matsumoto is a manga artist documenting daily life with her pets, starting with a dog named Inu-kun acquired from a pet shop and a cat named Neko-sama rescued as a kitten from a drain. Her household later expanded to include additional animals like Tokage-chan and Gaara-san. Matsumoto demonstrates practical traits and a methodical personality through structured attention to pet care routines, including feeding, exercise, and health monitoring. Her deep sense of responsibility manifests as vigilant observation of pet behaviors and health, sometimes resulting in cautious decision-making.

The narrative spans over a decade, showing Inu-kun and Neko-sama progress from youth to senior companions at twelve years old. This chronicles Matsumoto's adaptation to their changing needs, such as reduced energy and age-related habits like Inu-kun occupying the entire bed and Neko-sama's stubborn reluctance to overcome fears, such as napping near a previously intimidating trash bag. She captures subtle communications, like belly exposure signaling trust, and documents the unique dynamics between her pets during ordinary activities: mealtimes, play, and sleep.

Matsumoto's central role remains that of an observer and chronicler across all media. The stories reflect her perspective as a caregiver, focusing solely on the routines and small joys of multi-pet ownership without fictional backstory, personal history, external plot elements, or character arcs unrelated to pet companionship.
