Description
Kaede Igarashi is the head of the Disciplinary Committee at Ōsai Academy, a second-year student who progresses to her third year. She possesses long, light brown hair typically braided in two strands down her back, dark brown eyes, and stands noticeably shorter than Takatoshi Tsuda. A stern expression, common due to her role, softens among those she knows well.

Her personality is strictly principled, diligent, and driven by a powerful sense of justice, enforcing school rules with unwavering seriousness that extends to all interactions. Central to her character is severe androphobia—a fear of men triggering shaking, stuttering, or fainting during encounters with males, especially upon physical contact. These reactions only occur if she recognizes the person as male; unawareness, as with Tsuda in disguise or cross-dressers, prevents them. This phobia stems from a comedic past incident motivating her rigorous disciplinary stance as self-correction.

She frequently reprimands students like Nao-chan and Yoshi-kun for public displays of affection, frustrated by their repeat offenses. She clashes intensely with Ranko Hata, head of the newspaper club, over Ranko's unethical tactics—pranks include falsely claiming boys stared at Kaede during a contest or tricking her into believing Uomi was a cross-dressing boy. Kaede retaliates when possible, like threatening a "long talk" after catching Ranko filming girls in the bath.

Relationships with Student Council members vary: she respects President Shino Amakusa's competence but formally addresses her due to disapproval of Shino's perverted tendencies. Aria Shichijō is a partial role model, though Kaede censures Aria's lack of underwear and sexual remarks. Suzu Hagimura is deemed the most reliable council member, greeted casually. Her dynamic with Takatoshi Tsuda evolves significantly. Initial encounters involve extreme nervousness—fleeing or freezing near him. Gradually, Tsuda becomes the sole male she tolerates, progressing to brief conversations and, eventually, physical contact without fainting: holding his hand during a glue mishap or touching his stomach to demonstrate breathing at karaoke. This unique tolerance hints at a mild crush.

Key developmental events include her debut confronting the Student Council over beach trip photos (Season 1 Episode 8, manga Vol 2 Ch 18), threatening Shino's dismissal and panicking around Tsuda. Later challenges see her fleeing a relay race as Tsuda approaches (S1 Ep 9), delivering documents to him like a flustered love-letter exchange (S1 Ep 10), and persistent New Year's shrine anxiety (S1 Ep 11). By Season 2 Episode 11 (manga Vol 6 Ch 129), she manages brief dialogue with Tsuda before retreating, his behavior noted as potentially misleading to outsiders. The manga (Vol 10 Ch 263) highlights her unconscious physical contact during karaoke, showcasing her incremental comfort.
