Description
Takatoshi Tsuda enrolls at Ousai Academy, a recently co-ed institution formerly all-female, primarily for its convenient proximity to home. On his first day, he finds himself unexpectedly and unwillingly recruited as student council vice-president. This role tasks him with representing the male minority in a heavily female-skewed student body, placing him alongside President Shino Amakusa, Secretary Aria Shichijō, and Treasurer Suzu Hagimura. His younger sister, Kotomi Tsuda, later joins the academy, strengthening his familial connection to the school.

Standing taller than most peers with a lean build that offers occasional glimpses of muscular solidity, Takatoshi possesses light brown eyes and deep brown hair. Distinctive bangs frame his face, featuring two longer side bangs and shorter forehead bangs. He consistently wears his school uniform, showing little personal style in rare casual appearances. Despite this unassuming look, his diligent kindness makes him popular among female students, though persistent rumors about dating Shino often deter potential romantic interest.

Takatoshi exhibits a laidback yet responsible nature, enjoying leisure but prioritizing academic and council duties with reliability. Academically capable, though not matching his council peers' prodigious talents, he excels notably in writing; a short story he authored moved readers to tears. Constant exposure to the council's indecent humor has honed his wit, making him the instinctive "straight man" (tsukkomi) delivering sharp retorts to counter jokes. This role becomes so ingrained that he feels unsettled when the jokes stop. However, he remains remarkably dense regarding romantic signals, oblivious to the affections of Shino, Suzu, and classmate/judo club leader Mutsumi Mitsuba. This trait earned him the nickname "Flag-Crusher" from Chihiro Uomi for unintentionally sabotaging romantic moments.

His relationships feature dynamic interactions. He respects Shino's leadership and intellect but remains wary of her pervasive perverted humor. Persistent rumors of their romance include moments like her emotional plea against him transferring schools in a movie, though an OVA clarified her whispered words weren't a love confession. He respects Aria's traditional arts skills but endures intense sexual innuendos from her. Her initial view of him as a plaything evolved into genuine affection after a scripted confession during a school audio drama. Suzu shares a close, harmonious rapport with Takatoshi, often communicating nonverbally; she depends on him emotionally and shows subtle romantic interest, which he misses. Mutsumi harbors a clear crush that he overlooks, despite occasional displays like his embarrassment seeing her in a sweat-drenched uniform. Other connections include a protective dynamic with sister Kotomi, a grounding friendship with male classmate Kenji Yanagimoto, and cautious but respectful interactions with androphobic disciplinary president Kaede Igarashi.

Additional details include his nail-biting habit, July birthday, and past football involvement. European team posters in his room suggest ongoing interest. He has suffered fevers from exhaustion handling the council's relentless jokes. Notably, he applied and passed entrance exams for Eiryo High School but declined attendance due to its distance and uphill location, reaffirming his pragmatism. Across all media, his character remains consistent—adapting to the council's eccentricities without significant romantic resolution, maintaining his role as the relatable anchor amid comedic chaos.
