Description
Sergeant Denny Brosh is a soldier in the Amestrian State Military, best known as the loyal and constant partner of Second Lieutenant Maria Ross. A member of a military family, he was raised with a strong sense of duty and comes from a large household, being the eldest of several siblings, the youngest of whom is nearly an infant. He and his younger brother and sister share an apartment in Central City.

Brosh has a rather distinctive personality that blends professional dedication with personal quirks. He is often described as nosy and lazy, yet he is zealous about his work and loves his job. He has a very sensitive side, making him highly susceptible to criticism; even the slightest insult can send him into a state of despair. On the job, Brosh is respectful of authority, follows orders diligently, and when he fails at a mission, he tends to wallow in self-pity. Despite his occasional laziness, he is always willing to step forward for a new assignment and enjoys a degree of activity and action.

One of his most pronounced motivations is his enormous infatuation with his partner, Maria Ross. He is deeply protective of her, and his greatest fear is her death. He finds it difficult to tell her how he feels, and his goal is to one day confess his love. This emotional attachment plays a significant role in his development. Brosh has a very hard time hiding his emotions, which becomes a critical plot point when Ross is believed to have been killed. He is deeply saddened by the news, and it is later revealed that Ross feels it is best he not know she is alive, precisely because his inability to conceal his feelings would jeopardize her safety. His sensitivity extends to his daily interactions; he becomes a stuttering mess when intimidated or caught doing something wrong, and he is prone to falling into despair when insulted or when he perceives Ross showing interest in someone else.

Brosh is introduced alongside Maria Ross when they are assigned to protect and escort the Elric brothers, Edward and Alphonse, in Central City. His role in the story is primarily that of a supporting soldier and a steadfast companion to Ross. He is present during the investigation of the Fifth Laboratory, and later, he participates in the rebellion against Führer King Bradley. When Roy Mustang begins his assault on Central, Brosh rushes into the city to help, determined to face the "demon" who supposedly killed Ross. However, upon hearing Ross's voice broadcasting support for Mustang's coup, he recognizes her almost immediately and rushes to reunite with her, joining the resistance group in a torrent of tears.

In terms of abilities, Denny Brosh is a competent soldier, though no specific alchemical or extraordinary combat skills are highlighted. His primary strength is his loyalty and his function as a reliable, if somewhat emotionally transparent, member of the military police. Like many others in the country, he eventually falls victim to the Nationwide Transmutation Circle but is later revived. Physically, his hair is noted to be very similar to Edward Elric's, down to the distinctive antenna-like strand in the middle.
