Carrion, also known as the Beast Master, initially ruled the Beast Kingdom of Eurazania as its king. He is a lion-type beastman characterized by short spiky blonde hair, a tall muscular build, black sharp nails, and a beast paw print tattoo on his right chest. He typically wears loose clothing with a three-part pauldron on his right shoulder and wields a halberd as his primary weapon. In his Royal Beast Form, his appearance transforms significantly, featuring longer hair, increased body fur coverage, large feathered wings, and an emission of golden light. His personality combines regal authority with fierce loyalty. He embodies the majesty of a king, prioritizing his country's welfare above personal interests. He values strength, valor, and fairness, often acting on instinct but retreating strategically when necessary. He shows benevolence toward subordinates and respects allies who earn his trust, though he initially held rigid views about the strong ruling the weak. He disapproved of underhanded tactics, viewing Clayman's methods as dishonorable. Carrion's background spans over 500 years. He rose to prominence during the Great Tenma War, where his combat prowess distinguished him among beastmen. He later overthrew his half-brother Gradim with aid from the Three Beastketeers—Albis, Suphia, and Phobio—to claim kingship of Eurazania. Subsequently, recommended by Milim Nava and Kagali, he joined the Ten Great Demon Lords, adopting the title "Beast Master" due to his leadership and lion traits. As a newer Demon Lord, he actively expanded his influence to rival older peers like Clayman and Frey. Early in the series, Carrion conspired with Clayman, Frey, and Milim to create a puppet Demon Lord, leading to the Orc Lord incident. After the Orc Lord's defeat, he dispatched Phobio to investigate Rimuru Tempest's nascent Jura-Tempest Federation. When Phobio provoked conflict and was critically injured, Carrion intervened personally. Rimuru saved Phobio, prompting Carrion to establish a non-aggression pact and trade relations with Tempest. Later, Carrion engaged in a staged duel with Milim, feigned defeat, and was "captured" by Frey as part of their plot to mislead adversaries. He concealed himself in Frey's domain, wearing a lion mask and artificial wings during the Walpurgis Banquet. There, he witnessed Rimuru exposing Clayman's schemes and formally allied with Rimuru against Clayman. Recognizing his limitations compared to peers like Rimuru, Carrion voluntarily relinquished his Demon Lord title at Walpurgis, stepping down to become Milim Nava's aide alongside Frey. Post-abdication, Carrion participated in Tempest's Fighting Tournament as "Lion Mask" but withdrew when his disguise cracked during a match against Gobta. He later trained Gobta and deepened his partnership with Frey. During conflicts with the Eastern Empire, he confronted and defeated Gradim, absorbing the souls of Gradim's subordinates to awaken as a True Demon Lord. This evolution transformed him into a Holy Spirit Beast of Light, amplifying his abilities. He mastered this power within Ramiris's Labyrinth and ascended to supreme commander of Milim Nava's army, overseeing all her military forces. His abilities center on physical prowess and aura manipulation. Key skills include Royal Beast Transformation, which enhances his combat capabilities; Aura Suppression to subdue weaker foes; and regenerative powers via Self-Regeneration. Notable techniques involve Beast Roar, a concentrated energy blast later refined into Burst Roar under Milim's tutelage, and Iron Fist, an impact-focused strike. He also employs barrier magic for defense. Carrion maintains significant relationships. He respects Milim Nava as his leader and shares mutual trust with Frey as a fellow former Demon Lord. Though initially wary of Rimuru Tempest, he develops a cooperative alliance after Rimuru aids his subordinates. He mentored the Three Beastketeers and reconciled with Benimaru after sparring. His rivalry with Clayman turned antagonistic upon discovering Clayman's role in instigating Milim's attack on Eurazania.
