Description
Otae Shimura, formally named Tae Shimura, is a recurring supporting character in the anime and manga series Gintama. She is the older sister of Shimura Shinpachi, and the "O" attached to her common name is a polite honorific used for women. Around Edo she is known by many titles, including "Big Sister" from the young alien girl Kagura and "lady boss" or "sister" from members of the Shinsengumi police force, who regard her as the de facto partner of their leader Kondo Isao.
