Description
Arystar Krory III, also often romanized as Aleister Crowley III, is a significant character who joins the Black Order as an Exorcist. He is a tall, lean man with sharp facial features, pointed ears, and prominent fangs. He has black hair with a distinguishing white streak that falls across his face, and in battle, this streak stands on end while his eyes take on a feral, sinister yellow glow. As a baron by birth, he was raised in isolation within his grandfather's castle in Romania, leading to a profound naivety about the outside world.

Krory's personality is defined by a stark duality. In peaceful, everyday situations, he is gentle, sensitive, and highly emotional, often crying over small things and reacting to normal experiences with comical wonder. This sheltered innocence makes him seem like a kind-hearted and somewhat awkward individual. However, when his Innocence activates during combat, he transforms into a violent, bloodthirsty berserker driven by feral rage and incredible strength. Despite this vicious persona, he retains enough awareness to distinguish allies from enemies, remaining loyal to those he trusts. Over time, these two sides begin to merge, granting him greater control in his empowered state.

His motivations are rooted in a search for identity and a place to belong. Before becoming an Exorcist, he was shunned by local villagers who believed him to be a vampire, a rumor fueled by his castle home and his instinctive attacks on them. In truth, he was unconsciously hunting Akuma, the mechanical monsters created by the Millennium Earl. His teeth are composed of a parasitic-type Innocence, and the true power of this weapon lies in his blood. This power drove him to drink the blood of Akuma, which he found unbearably bitter, but he was initially unaware of why he was driven to do so.

The turning point in his life came when he fell in love with a beautiful woman named Eliade, who lived with him in the castle. Unbeknownst to Krory, she was a Level 2 Akuma sent to kill him. They genuinely loved each other, and she provided him with the companionship he had always craved. When Exorcists Allen Walker and Lavi were hired by the villagers to deal with the "vampire," Krory fought them fiercely. Allen's cursed eye eventually revealed Eliade's true form, forcing Krory to confront the reality that his love was an Akuma. In a devastating moment, he was compelled to destroy her, killing the only person who had ever accepted him. This tragedy, and Allen's offer of a new purpose, motivated him to join the Black Order to fight against the Earl's forces.

Key relationships heavily influence his development. Allen Walker is the one who gives him a reason to live after Eliade's death, and Krory becomes a loyal comrade. Lavi, the future Bookman, playfully nicknames him "Kro-chan" or "Krokins," helping to draw him out of his depression with lighthearted teasing. He also shares a deep respect for his late grandfather, a fellow baron and scholar. Krory's most profound relationship, however, was with Eliade; her memory continues to haunt him, and his love for her shapes his understanding of the tragedy inherent in the existence of Akuma, who are born from human souls cursed into despair. His development sees him gradually acclimating to life outside his castle, learning to trust his fellow Exorcists, and mastering his volatile powers to protect his new family.

Krory's notable abilities stem entirely from his parasitic Innocence, which manifests through his blood and teeth. His primary ability is to drink the blood of Akuma. Doing so grants him a temporary but immense boost in strength, speed, and regenerative capabilities, allowing him to heal from severe wounds. He can also extract the poisonous Akuma virus from an infected person by drinking their blood, a technique he has used to save his allies. His blood itself becomes a weapon; he can manipulate it to coat his hands for reinforced strikes or even detach it from his body to create a semi-autonomous, nearly invulnerable construct called Bloody Krory. This form allows him to fight remotely and with maximum power, though it leaves him greatly fatigued. His combat style is ferocious and direct, relying on his enhanced physical abilities and the lethal properties of his Innocence to overwhelm his enemies.
