Description

Her journey begins in childhood when she was taken captive by a Yoma, a monster that used her as a shield and a toy, leaving her covered in scars and rendered selectively mute from the trauma. This existence ended when a Claymore named Teresa killed the Yoma. Young Claire, sensing a deep loneliness in the powerful warrior that mirrored her own, stubbornly followed her until Teresa reluctantly allowed the girl to accompany her. This bond became the most important relationship in Claire's life, but it was violently shattered when the Claymore Priscilla, having lost control of her power, beheaded Teresa before Claire's eyes.
This horrific event forged Claire's primary motivation. In an unprecedented act, she took Teresa's severed head to the Organization that created the Claymores and demanded that Teresa's flesh and blood be implanted into her own body, making her a warrior. This made Claire a unique hybrid, only one-quarter Yoma instead of the usual half, and she was deemed a failure and assigned the lowest rank, Number 47. Her entire existence as a Claymore is dedicated to a single goal: finding and killing Priscilla, the Awakened Being who murdered her beloved mentor.
