Description
Baby, in his adult form, is the primary antagonist of the Dragon Ball GT anime series. He is an artificial being, a parasitic life form created using the DNA of King Tuffle, the ruler of a race that was nearly exterminated by the Saiyans. Baby’s very existence is a tool for vengeance, programmed to destroy the Saiyans and restore the Tuffle race to glory.

The core of Baby's personality is a deep, burning hatred for the Saiyans, whom he views as savage and unworthy. He is highly intelligent and cunning, capable of orchestrating complex plans to achieve his goals. Despite his sophisticated schemes, Baby is also notably immature and infantile, prone to taunting his enemies and becoming enraged when mocked. This childishness stands in stark contrast to his genocidal intentions. He is incredibly arrogant and selfish, believing he has a right to rule the universe and considering all other living beings as his potential slaves. There is a deep irony in his character: while he despises the Saiyans for their violent conquest, he adopts the same brutal methods and even seeks to steal their power, most notably by possessing Vegeta and harnessing the transformative energy of a Golden Great Ape.

Baby's primary motivation is revenge. He seeks to pay back the suffering inflicted upon his race by wiping out every last Saiyan. His secondary goal is to rebuild the Tuffle civilization. He uses the Black Star Dragon Balls to recreate Planet Plant, renaming it Planet Tuffle, and intends to populate it with a new generation of his kind. He is willing to subjugate or annihilate anyone who stands in the way of this objective.

In the story, Baby is first discovered in a larval state on the planet M-2 by Goku, Pan, and Trunks. After a brief confrontation, he escapes and makes his way to Earth, which becomes the central battleground. His role is to serve as a near-unstoppable force that systematically takes over the planet. He demonstrates his threat level by infecting almost the entire population of Earth with parasitic eggs, including most of the Z-Fighters. His ultimate success comes when he takes the powerful Saiyan prince Vegeta as his permanent host, becoming the immensely strong Baby Vegeta. This possession forces Goku to achieve a new level of power, Super Saiyan 4, to combat him. Baby’s actions drive the second major story arc of Dragon Ball GT, raising the stakes from a simple treasure hunt to a fight for the survival of the Earth and the universe.

The most significant relationship Baby has is with his host, Vegeta. By inhabiting Vegeta’s body, Baby gains access to immense Saiyan power, which he can then augment with his own abilities and energy stolen from others. He has a relationship of manipulation with Dr. Myuu; although Myuu believes he is Baby’s creator, it is revealed that Baby actually created Myuu to oversee his own revival. Baby’s primary adversary is Goku, whose pure-hearted nature and limitless potential for growth stand in direct opposition to Baby’s parasitic and vengeful existence. Their conflict culminates in a battle between Baby in Vegeta's body and Goku in his Super Saiyan 4 form.

Throughout the Baby arc, the character undergoes significant physical development. He begins as a small, weak, larva-like creature that must crawl to move. After infecting multiple hosts on Earth, he evolves into a taller, more powerful adolescent form. His most dramatic development is his fusion with Vegeta, which itself has multiple stages. He first appears as a possessed version of Vegeta with white hair and red facial markings. He then transforms into Super Baby Vegeta 1 and Super Baby Vegeta 2, each stage increasing his muscle mass and incorporating more of his own Tuffle features, such as blue eye visors and metallic shoulder pads. His final and most powerful form is the Golden Great Ape, a massive, golden-furred beast that he achieves using a Blutz Wave Generator, which amplifies the radiation needed for a Saiyan to transform.

Baby possesses several notable abilities. His primary power is biological parasitism, allowing him to enter a host through a wound, take over their mind and body, and utilize their fighting skills and power level. He can also lay microscopic eggs inside a host, which later hatch to exert control over the person even when Baby is not present inside them. He is capable of absorbing the energy from his possessed victims to further increase his own strength. In combat, his signature technique is the Revenge Death Ball, a powerful, dark energy sphere he uses to obliterate his opponents. When inhabiting Vegeta, he also has access to Vegeta's own techniques, such as the Final Flash and Big Bang Attack.
