Description
Raishinshi is a young immortal from the Kunlun mountains who enters the story as a wandering thief before becoming a committed fighter in the conflict against the corrupt Yin court. As an infant, he was saved by Ki Shou, who adopted him as his hundredth child. Because Raishinshi had only one immortal bone, Ki Shou placed him under the care of the eccentric Kunlun sage Unchuushi. Through Unchuushi's experiments, his skin became dark and wing-shaped sacred instruments called the Tensouyoku grew from his back, giving him control over wind and lightning. With this power, he managed to escape his master's tyrannical experiments.
After escaping, Raishinshi thought about returning to his father, but he was self-conscious about his changed appearance and instead became known as a thief who stole for the benefit of ordinary people. During this period he encountered Taikobo, fought him, and lost. That defeat became a turning point: he disbanded his band of thieves, returned to Kunlun for training, and later joined the revolution that sought to overthrow the Yin dynasty and its ruler.
In the anime, Raishinshi is a recurring ally with a hot temper and a comedic presence. His screen time in the middle of the story is comparatively limited because he spends much of it having his wings remodeled to increase their power, eventually upgrading to three pairs.
