Description
Fuuka Shirato is known as the Welding Wild Dance Enlightened, a title that reflects her unique status and abilities within the world of Grenadier. She has black hair that falls to her neck and black eyes, giving her a distinctive appearance as a teenage girl. Her past is deeply intertwined with that of the warrior Yajiro, as she was once one of his former comrades in a rebel movement. During their march on the capital city of Tento while crossing the treacherous Mount Charanbo, she fell from a cliff, and Yajiro was unable to save her, leading everyone to presume she was dead.

In truth, Fuuka was saved from her fall by a figure known as the Jester. The Jester caused an Enlightened Evil gun to assimilate with her, making her and the weapon one and the same creature. This transformation granted her extraordinary power but also bound her to a new and dangerous fate. After this event, the Jester took her to the capital, where she met Tenshi, who was actually Setsuna Oomido in disguise. Tenshi convinced Fuuka that their goal to unite all lands was the same as the one she had fought for as a rebel, thereby securing her loyalty to a new cause. Her primary motivation stems from this desire to see the land united, even if the path to achieve it has changed from her original rebellion.

A key element of Fuuka's personality is revealed through her relationship with Yajiro, whom she was the only person to call "Tiger". This nickname suggests a closeness and a unique bond between them. Their connection is the emotional core of her role in the story, as she is a former ally turned adversary. When she eventually discovers that the Jester is in fact her former leader, the Mountain Templar, she is faced with a critical choice. In a decisive moment, she uses her Enlightened Evil gun to defend Yajiro from the Jester's attack, demonstrating that her loyalty to her old comrade ultimately overrides her commitment to her new masters.

The story of Fuuka is marked by a tragic repetition of past events. The blast from her weapon sends both her and Yajiro over a cliff, mirroring the accident that had separated them before. This time, however, she has developed a resolve that was not present previously. She tells Yajiro to fulfill his goal in his own way and deliberately lets go of his hand, sacrificing herself to ensure his survival and allowing herself to fall to her death. This final act represents her complete character development, transforming from a presumed-dead soldier into a transformed weapon of the enemy, and ultimately into a self-sacrificing individual who reclaims her agency to protect the one she once fought beside.

Her defining ability is being an Enlightened, a state where she has been fused with an Enlightened Evil gun, making her inseparable from the weapon. This assimilation grants her the power of the gun, which she masterfully wields in combat. This unique condition is both her greatest strength and the source of her tragic situation, as it marks her as a tool for those who control her, a fate she ultimately overcomes by using this very power not for her masters, but for her friend.
