TV-Series
Description
Lucy Maria Misora, also known as Ruuko Kireinasora, is an alien girl who becomes a classmate of Takaaki Kouno in ToHeart2. She hails from a distant planet called Ru and originally travels to Earth as a castaway explorer. After a chance meeting with Takaaki, during which she is weak from hunger, he offers her food. In gratitude, she gives him a matchstick, explaining that on her planet a single matchstick is sufficient currency to purchase a rocket engine. Soon afterward she transfers into his school under the adopted name Ruuko Kireinasora, which translates to beautiful sky, and sits beside him in class.
Lucy possesses a calm and often inexpressive demeanor, leading others to perceive her as aloof or elusive. She speaks a distinctive Ruu language, referring to herself as Ru, to Earth and its inhabitants as Uu, and greeting people by raising both arms and exclaiming Ru. This gesture later becomes a playful trend among some classmates. She writes in Egyptian hieroglyphs and uses matchsticks as currency on Earth, successfully bartering them for a charcoal clay pot and fish. Her personality is self-indulgent and occasionally sarcastic, but she is not devoid of emotion; she shows a dry, boastful sense of humor and can be direct in her criticisms.
Lucy’s primary motivation is to return to her home planet, though she gradually forms a strong attachment to Takaaki, whom she calls a special Uu. She also develops a bond with a stray cat she names Nya, which she considers a kindred spirit alone on Earth. She communicates with animals and demonstrates supernatural abilities, such as summoning a thunderbolt to split a tree and create a bridge so that Takaaki can rescue Nya from a raging river. Later, she uses her powers to help a young girl named Nanako reconcile with a friend, sacrificing her own chance to go home in the process. This act deepens her relationship with Takaaki, who eventually offers her a place to stay at his home.
Lucy’s role in the story is that of a mysterious outsider who gradually integrates into the human world through her interactions with Takaaki and other characters such as Konomi, Tamaki, Karin, and the Himeyuri twins. Her development moves from isolation and a desire to leave to willingly giving up her return for the sake of others, showing a growing understanding of human emotions and bonds.
