Description
Cygnus Hyoga is one of the five main Bronze Saints, the warriors who protect the goddess Athena. His name, Hyoga, means glacier, a fitting designation for a fighter who has mastered the art of ice. In the original manga and anime, he was born in East Siberia, while later adaptations place his origin in the village of Oymyakon in Sakha, Russia, one of the coldest inhabited places on Earth. His mother is a Russian woman named Natasha, who perished in a shipwreck when Hyoga was very young, an event that left a profound emotional scar. In the manga continuity, his father is the wealthy Japanese businessman Mitsumasa Kido, making him a half-brother to many of the other orphaned Saints trained by the Foundation.
