Description
Harry McDowell, also known by his fearsome nickname Bloody Harry, is the best friend of Brandon Heat and serves as the primary antagonist throughout the anime. His entire life is defined by a deep-seated desire for absolute freedom, which he interprets as the power to take whatever he wants and give however he pleases. This ambition fuels his journey from a street thug to the cold-blooded boss of the powerful Millennion crime syndicate.

From a young age, Harry lived in a harsh and impoverished environment, growing up in an abusive orphanage where he first met and befriended Brandon. He started a small street gang with Brandon and other friends, but after most of their companions were brutally murdered by a rival, Harry came to believe that true safety and freedom could only be secured through immense power. This traumatic event was the catalyst for his ruthless rise, leading him to join Millennion alongside Brandon.

As a person, Harry is extremely charismatic, clever, and persuasive, which allows him to navigate the criminal underworld effectively. However, he is also impatient, prone to taking shortcuts, and increasingly paranoid as his power grows. He is known for his cruelty, earning his nickname by excessively shooting his targets, often continuing long after they have already fallen. Despite his brutality, Harry possesses a deeply conflicted nature. He genuinely cares for his best friend, Brandon, and his wife, Sherry Walken, yet his ambition consistently overrides his affection. He shows a soft spot for his old orphanage, frequently visiting and bringing gifts to the children there. His womanizing demeanor softens when it comes to his friends, as he once redirected Marias gratitude to Brandon, supporting their relationship from the start.

Harrys primary motivation is the acquisition of limitless freedom, which he equates with becoming the undisputed leader of Millennion. He resents being held back or controlled, and this resentment eventually turns towards Big Daddy, the organizations revered founder. Jealousy also plays a key role in his downfall; he cannot stand that Big Daddy favored Brandon, feeling that his best friend chose the Family over their bond.

In the story, Harry serves as a foil to the loyal and stoic Brandon. He is the brains and the ambition, while Brandon is the brawn and the conscience. As Harry rises through the ranks to become a top executive, he begins embezzling funds to research a forbidden process called necrolization, which creates monstrous, obedient soldiers called Orgmen. When his mentor Randy discovers his treachery, Harry has him killed. Believing he is entitled to inherit Millennion, he brutally murders Big Daddy when the leader refuses to step down, taking control of the syndicate and branding the murdered Brandon a traitor.

The most crucial relationship in Harrys life is with Brandon Heat. They are best friends and brothers, yet Harry ultimately shoots Brandon dead in an elevator when Brandon refuses to help him kill Big Daddy. Despite this betrayal, Harry never fully forgets Brandon. Years later, when he discovers that Brandon chose to be resurrected as the necrolized assassin Beyond the Grave, he is shaken. In their final confrontation, Harry breaks down and admits his mistakes, realizing that his quest for power cost him the only thing that truly mattered. His relationship with Sherry Walken is also significant; he marries her partly to ensure the loyalty of her father, the powerful sweeper Bear Walken. When Sherry is killed in an assassination attempt meant for him, Harry is openly devastated.

Harrys character development is one of tragedy and corruption. He begins as a lively, quick-witted youth desperate to escape poverty. The loss of his childhood friends hardens him, but joining Millennion offers him a structured path to power. This path warps his desire for freedom into a monstrous ego. The visible toll of his sins is shown physically; by the time he is the boss of Millennion, he appears as a much older, gray-haired man, despite only being in his late thirties, in stark contrast to the youthful, vibrant figure he was in his twenties.

Harry is a capable fighter and a skilled shot, renowned for his ruthlessness in combat. However, his true abilities lie in his strategic mind and his skill at manipulating people and situations to his advantage. As the boss of Millennion, his primary power is his absolute control over a global criminal empire and his access to the advanced necrolization technology, which allows him to command an army of nearly unstoppable Orgmen.
