Description
Masanobu Hojo, also referred to by the nickname Homo, is a supporting character in the anime and manga Gantz. He is a handsome twenty-year-old former male model who quit his job after his boss made repeated unwanted advances toward him. His death occurred when the motorcycle he borrowed to escape his obsessive stalker, Sadako Suzumura, was struck by a truck after the driver fell asleep; Sadako was riding on the back at the time and also perished. Following his death, Hojo is transported to the Gantz room and forced to participate in the alien-hunting missions as a member of the Tokyo Team.
In terms of personality, Hojo initially comes across as superficial, arrogant, and vain, displaying a marked concern for his appearance even in the midst of life-threatening situations. He is openly flirtatious with women and enjoys success with them due to his looks, but he reacts with intense anger if someone calls him gay or refers to him by his Gantz-assigned nickname Homo.
