Description
Lebia Mavelick is a founding member and the second-in-command of the Attacked Mystification Police, or AMP, the special police force formed to protect Tokyo from extradimensional beings known as Lucifer Hawks. She serves as the team’s technology specialist and primary data analyst, operating from a high-tech interface that allows her to project her consciousness into cyberspace. Originally from Los Angeles, she was among the first officers recruited by Rally Cheyenne when the AMP was established.

Lebia is classified as an Alpha-class Visionaire, a person with cybernetic implants that enable direct mental connection to computers. Her personal databank is stored in an orbiting satellite named Donald, giving her a memory capacity roughly three thousand times that of an ordinary Visionaire. She is also a skilled programmer and inventor who created three artificial intelligence companions: Huey, a motorcycle-shaped AI; Dewey, a vaguely humanoid walking robot; and Louie, a monolith-like entity inspired by classic science fiction. These AIs assist her in various tasks and she forms a strong emotional attachment to them, becoming visibly distressed when one is damaged or destroyed.

In addition to her cyberspace abilities, Lebia controls the AMP’s mobile command center and attack craft, the Simurgh. Through her orbital satellite, she can access powerful surveillance cameras and a laser weapon system, though the latter requires special authorization due to its destructive power. She also carries standard AMP-issued firearms and combat gear, and has received basic combat training.

Lebia’s background is deeply tied to her grandfather, Stefan Mavelick, a renowned scientist who developed the first Visionaire technology and built the Cyclotron, a massive circular device buried beneath Tokyo that played a central role in the events leading to the Lucifer Hawk invasion. The Mavelick family’s patents and inventions have made Lebia extremely wealthy; she lives in a luxurious apartment with a personal swimming pool and owns the satellite that serves as her data storage.

Personality-wise, Lebia is polished, exacting, and strictly professional. She insists on adherence to AMP regulations, often disapproving of casual behavior or non-standard uniforms among her colleagues. She frequently handles paperwork and is responsible for disciplining more unruly team members such as Katsumi Liqueur and Kiddy Phenil. Despite her stern exterior, she is deeply loyal to Rally Cheyenne and the AMP’s mission, and she genuinely cares for the welfare of her fellow officers. Her connection to machines is not just technical but emotional; she views her AI creations almost as family and is protective of them.

Within the story, Lebia functions as the team’s brain, coordinating intelligence, managing technological defenses, and providing strategic support during missions. She rarely engages in direct frontline combat, instead directing operations from the Simurgh or from her interface at headquarters. Her role becomes increasingly important as the war against the Lucifer Hawks escalates.

Over the course of the series, Lebia matures from a capable but somewhat rigid officer into a more seasoned leader. In the sequel series, Silent Möbius QD, which takes place seventeen years after the original story, she has assumed Rally Cheyenne’s position as chief of the AMP. Her physical form has changed, now appearing as a young girl with limited mobility, though she retains her Visionaire abilities and continues to oversee the organization.

Lebia’s key relationships include her mentor and commanding officer Rally Cheyenne, whom she respects and obeys; her AMP colleagues, especially the more impulsive Katsumi and Kiddy, whom she often has to rein in; and her three AI creations, which she treats with unusual warmth. Her grandfather’s legacy also looms over her, giving her a personal stake in the conflict that goes beyond her professional duty.
