TV-Series
Description
Eduardo, often called Eddie by his friends, is a central character in the Yo-kai Watch series. He is a student at Springdale Elementary School and a close friend of Nate, Bear, and Katie. Physically, Eduardo is somewhat shorter than his peers Nate and Bear, with unkempt brown hair, high-placed eyebrows, and half-closed, sleepy-looking eyes. His signature outfit consists of a green jacket with two orange patches on the sleeves, a white collared shirt over a blue undershirt, rolled-up capris, and blue shoes with a white trim. He is almost never seen without his orange headphones, which match the patches on his jacket.

In terms of personality, Eduardo has a relaxed and easygoing nature, though he is not entirely reserved. He is generally friendly and offers advice to his friends, but according to Katie, he may secretly see himself as being superior to them in some ways. He has a strong passion for technology, gadgets, and video games, and he is a much better student than Nate or Bear. A key defining trait is his skepticism toward anything supernatural. He firmly believes that every strange event has a logical, scientific explanation, which often leads him to dismiss Yo-kai activity as mechanical glitches or other mundane malfunctions. Despite his calm demeanor, he can become mildly irritated by others, though he tends to keep his frustration to himself rather than express it openly.

Eduardo comes from a wealthy family and lives in a large house in an upscale neighborhood. However, his parents are frequently away from home due to their work commitments, which leads to him spending a significant amount of time alone. This sense of loneliness is a key part of his background, most notably explored when the Yo-kai Sandmeh brings his suppressed sadness to the surface during a birthday party that his parents were unable to attend.

Within the story, Eduardo serves as a supporting character in Nate's friend group. In the video games, he is involved in several quests that highlight his personality. For example, in the first game, he plays a key role in investigating rumors of possessed samurai armor at the Gourd Pond Museum. He is also the focus of a request where strange behavior in his family home is ultimately revealed to be caused by Yo-kai, a situation he questions but still tries to rationalize. In Yo-kai Watch 2, he demonstrates his tech-savviness by acquiring a rare, special red Mega Watch, which becomes the target of a thieving Yo-kai in the chapter High-Tech Hide And Seek. Other quests involve him trying to find a retro robot toy for his collection and attempting to meet a mysterious girl he has become infatuated with. In the anime series, his role is similar, and the episode Yo-kai Sandmeh provides significant character development by addressing his emotional vulnerability regarding his absent parents, leading to a resolution where they return home to celebrate with him.

Eduardo shares a close friendship with Nate, often giving him advice while also playfully teasing him about his shortcomings. He is almost always seen with Bear, and the two are considered a pair within the group, but the exact nature of his individual relationship with Bear is not deeply explored. He also gets along with Katie, though she is sometimes the one to note his subtle arrogance. While his family is rarely seen, he has a cordial relationship with his parents, and his mother has appeared in a quest to replace a broken model for him.

Development for Eduardo is subtle but present, most notably in the Sandmeh storyline, where he learns to cope with his loneliness and reconnects with his parents. For the most part, however, his character remains consistent, defined by his intelligence, his love for technology, and his stubborn refusal to believe in the supernatural despite constantly experiencing it. His notable abilities are not combat-oriented but stem from his technological proficiency. He has demonstrated the ability to hack into and disable complex security systems, such as the one at the Gourd Pond Museum, and he is skilled at using advanced devices like his customized Mega Watch for tracking purposes.
