TV-Series
Description
Delphine Eraclea, also known as Maestro Delphine, is the primary antagonist of the series and holds the position of Maestro, the absolute leader of the Guild. Born in G.D. 641, she is 24 years old during the events of the story and is the older sister of Dio Eraclea. She came to power through ruthless means, having murdered her own parents to secure her position as the head of the Guild.

Delphine is characterized by a profound and calculated cruelty. She is a heartless individual who derives genuine pleasure from the misery, confusion, and suffering of others. Her personality is that of a decadent and callous aristocrat who delights in wastefulness. This is exemplified by her demand for luxurious meals that require exorbitant and often deadly resources, such as a dessert harvested in conditions that typically kill the harvesters and a single serving of catfish prepared using one hundred gallons of precious First Water. She is seen smiling most often when others are dying due to her machinations. While she enjoys watching the chaos she causes, she is ultimately pragmatic and willing to remain in the background when necessary to ensure her plans succeed.

Delphine's primary motivation is the acquisition of the ancient colony ship known as Exile. She seeks to possess it and control the truth it holds, believing that she alone should possess this power. Her role in the story is that of a manipulative and oppressive force who sabotages a peace treaty between warring nations and prolongs a bloody conflict for her own benefit. She demonstrates a callous disregard for human life, exemplified by her order to shoot down a ship carrying water to refugees, an act she performed purely for her own amusement.

Her key relationships are defined by manipulation and a lust for control. Her younger brother, Dio, is terrified of her, and she engages in severe psychological and emotional abuse against him, eventually subjecting him to a form of mind control that drives him to insanity. She similarly manipulates Dio's friend, Lucciola, by promising freedom for Dio in exchange for his service, only to betray and disintegrate him when he becomes inconvenient. She is also the target of a deep-seated vengeance from Alex Row, a past encounter having made him swear to kill her personally. When she captures Alex, she tortures him by having him bound in rose vines, their thorns laced with a truth serum, while cruelly remarking on the beauty of his suffering.

Delphine undergoes no redemption arc; her character remains consistently malevolent throughout the narrative. Her notable abilities are primarily psychological, wielding an arsenal of mental and emotional weapons with ease to control those around her. She does not typically engage in direct combat, relying instead on her immense authority and loyal subordinates like her attack commander, Cicada. Her most distinctive and formidable weapon is a pair of golden rings she wears. These rings possess the power to disintegrate a person instantly, turning their body into either beautiful golden shards or ash. Her immense arrogance and sadism ultimately lead to her death at the hands of Alex Row, who breaks her neck, ending her reign of terror.
