Baro Barrows, also called Palo Barrows, is an anthropomorphic wolf beastman. He sports darkish-light blue fur, piercing yellow eyes, a prominent dark red scar across his snout, and a torn ear. His typical attire includes a brown strapped jacket with a gray shoulder plate, sage-colored baggy pants, and dark brown boots. He carries a dark brown sword featuring a gold and beige handle at his waist.
Barrows began as a rootless drifter, working as a bodyguard for the tiger tradesman Beri Berinal. Assigned to steal from Caius and Kouichi, he kidnapped Kouichi for ransom. This act led to a public confrontation where Baro blamed Kouichi for the escalating situation. After relocating Kouichi to a secluded shed, Baro misinterpreted Kouichi's symptoms as entering a beastman heat cycle. Believing he could alleviate the symptoms, Baro initiated non-consensual physical contact through licking and other means. Kouichi resisted, prompting further conflict.
Caius tracked Baro using magic and confronted him. Enraged by the kidnapping and violation, Caius attempted to strangle Baro. Kouichi intervened, revealing he suffered from Karina's poison, not heat. Caius compelled Baro to retrieve a Raisa fruit from a nearby mountain within thirty minutes to cure Kouichi, threatening lethal consequences via tracking magic if Baro failed or fled. Baro succeeded, enabling Kouichi's recovery.
Witnessing Caius and Kouichi's bond triggered a flashback for Baro. He recalled his grandmother recounting the myth of the twin gods Karina and Raisa, who loved each other despite being forbidden to unite. This memory, coupled with Kouichi's earlier plea for mercy, fostered remorse. Baro subsequently apologized to both Caius and Kouichi and expressed gratitude toward Kouichi.
Following these events, Baro abandoned his drifting life. He began traveling with Caius and Kouichi and later secured employment as an assistant to Dr. Martu in Tildant. He expressed a commitment to reform, stating his intention to cease criminal behavior once gainfully employed.
