Description
Fujikuro is a bounty hunter who works for the Ghomvak Security & Investigations agency, the same organization that employs the protagonist Iria and her older brother Gren. Described as a somewhat loutish and jaded veteran, he often finds himself on the periphery of the most exciting assignments. He openly resents that his colleague Bob frequently assigns the most prestigious and high-paying cases to Gren and Iria, while he is left with less important or elementary jobs.

Despite his gruff and self-interested demeanor, Fujikuro is not without a sense of duty. He often claims to only help Iria grudgingly, motivated by the promise of money from Bob. However, as the series progresses, a softer side of his character is revealed. It becomes evident that he genuinely cares for Iria's safety, acting as a reluctant protector. This is particularly demonstrated when he prevents the headstrong young girl Kei from confronting the alien Zeiram alone, an act that shows his concern extends to other vulnerable individuals as well.

In the story, Fujikuro fills the role of an experienced, if cynical, ally. After the disastrous mission on the spaceship Karma, where Iria is left for dead and hunted by the powerful Tedan Tippedai Corporation, Fujikuro assists her in escaping her assassins. His knowledge of the underworld and his survival instincts prove crucial in helping Iria navigate the conspiracy surrounding the creature Zeiram while she is still a rookie hunter. His relationship with Iria evolves from simple professional rivalry into a protective, almost paternal, guardianship. He serves as a contrast to the polished and heroic Gren, representing the hardened reality of a long-term bounty hunter who has become disillusioned but still adheres to a personal code of honor.

Physically, Fujikuro is distinguished by his long, dark hair, which reaches his chest, and a notable mustache or long ratty mustache. He typically carries a sword as part of his arsenal. While he is a capable fighter and survivor, the narrative focuses more on his street smarts and resilience than on any superhuman abilities. Notably, this version of Fujikuro is unique to the anime adaptation. While a character sharing his name appears in the live-action Zeiram films, that counterpart is a simple thief, making the anime's portrayal an older and more sympathetic figure who is distinctly different in personality and his connection to Iria.
