Description
General Mogor was a high-ranking officer in the Doom military, serving as a general and as the senior military advisor to Prince Lotor. He succeeded Commander Yurak in this position, taking over the role of the primary military commander assigned to carry out Lotor’s campaigns. Mogor’s background before his rise to this rank is not detailed, but his appointment indicates that he was considered capable enough to manage the forces of Doom under the prince’s often erratic leadership.
Personality-wise, Mogor is depicted as a dutiful but somewhat beleaguered commander. He frequently finds himself in the difficult position of carrying out Lotor’s orders, yet his authority is regularly undermined by the prince’s tendency to intervene directly or issue contradictory commands. As a result, Mogor often appears frustrated or exasperated, but he remains loyal to the Doom empire and does not openly rebel. His motivations are those of a career military officer: he seeks to fulfill his duties, execute the plans of his superiors, and maintain his standing within the imperial hierarchy. There is no indication of personal ambition beyond serving the cause of Doom.
In the story, Mogor appears as a supporting antagonist, primarily seen accompanying Lotor on missions and leading Doom’s forces in battle. One notable appearance occurs on the planet Pollux, where he assists Lotor in a deal with the evil King Coba. He is often tasked with commanding Robeasts or overseeing military operations against the Voltron Force and the Kingdom of Arus. His role is that of a middle manager of evil: he is more involved than a faceless officer but never rises to the level of a primary villain like Lotor or Emperor Zarkon.
Mogor’s key relationships center on Prince Lotor, his direct superior. He must navigate Lotor’s volatile temperament and frequent interference, which leaves him in a subordinate and often thankless position. He also interacts with other Doom officers, though these relationships are not explored in depth. His relationship with the Voltron Force is purely adversarial; he is a recurring obstacle for them, but he never becomes a personal nemesis.
Development over the series is minimal. Mogor is introduced as a replacement for Yurak and continues in his role for a number of episodes. In at least one instance, he is referred to by the name "Morgill" due to an inconsistency in the writing, but this does not represent a true character change. Eventually, he appears to be replaced or fades from the narrative without fanfare, as the series shifted focus to other antagonists.
Notable abilities are not heavily emphasized. Mogor is a competent military leader who commands troops and knows how to deploy the resources of Doom. He pilots spacecraft or oversees battle stations but does not possess any unique powers or skills that set him apart from other high-ranking Doom officers. His main function is as a foil to Lotor and a recurring commander for the forces opposing Voltron.
