TV-Series
Description
Commander Hazar is a high-ranking warlord and prominent antagonist within the Drule Empire. As a Drule, he has a humanoid appearance, characterized by his stark white hair and red eyes. His family connections include a sister named Dorma, who remains loyal to him, and a father named Morzak, who serves as Chancellor.

Initially, Hazar embodies the typical Drule military leader, being firmly bent on galactic conquest and serving as a direct enemy to the Galaxy Alliance. However, as the series progresses, his character undergoes a significant transformation. He develops a more compassionate perspective and, much like Commander Hawkins of the Alliance, begins to seek a peaceful resolution to the prolonged conflict between the two civilizations. This shift in philosophy defines his central motivation: to arrange a lasting peace, a goal that puts him at odds with his own empire's aggressive leadership.

This pursuit of peace comes at a great personal cost. Hazar faces demotions, imprisonment, and open hostility from his subordinates. Several of his underlings deliberately disobey his direct orders to cease hostilities, preferring to continue attacking the Alliance. His commitment to peace eventually leads him to return to Planet Drule to plead his case before the high command and face allegations of treachery for aiding the Voltron Force. Despite the support of his father and sister, he is met with a hostile mob and a harsh trial, resulting in his exile to the planet Dreska. In recognition of his efforts, the Voltron Force names a planet that he saved in his honor.

Hazar's role in the story is that of a complex antagonist whose changing ideals place him at the center of the conflict's resolution. His actions are instrumental in the final fate of the Drule people. As the Drule home planet faces destruction and their forces are divided by civil war, Hazar steps into a new role, becoming the leader of his people during their time of crisis. This development demonstrates his evolution from a standard conqueror to a selfless leader dedicated to the survival of his race, with his story culminating in the rescue and surrender of the Drule Empire. Throughout the series, his abilities are primarily those of a strategic commander and leader, though his characterization is marked by a noted inconsistency, as he sometimes fluctuates between advocating for peace and ordering attacks.
