Description
Garrett is a character introduced in the original Voltron: Defender of the Universe series. He is an artificial being, created as a clone by the witch Haggar, who serves as the chief advisor and sorceress to the evil King Zarkon. Haggar used her magic and the same technology previously employed to create a clone of Prince Lotor to bring Garrett into existence.

Upon his creation, Garrett was deployed to the planet Arus with a specific mission of infiltration and sabotage. His primary objective was to compromise the Voltron Force from within. To achieve this, he assumed a false identity, claiming to be the long-lost son of Coran, the royal advisor to Princess Allura and a key member of the Voltron alliance. He first encountered the Voltron Force when Princess Allura experienced a malfunction with her lion, and Garrett gained their trust by assisting her.

Garrett’s personality was one of calculated deception. He presented a facade of loyalty and competence, deliberately seeking to ingratiate himself with the team. He succeeded to the point that he was allowed to train as a reserve pilot for the Voltron lions, a position of immense responsibility and trust. Ultimately, he was assigned a post in the Castle of Lions’ control room, placing him in a strategic position to monitor and disrupt operations.

His motivations were rooted in his origin as a tool of the Galra Empire. He carried out his mission to weaken the Voltron Force, most notably by poisoning Coran to remove the experienced advisor from active duty. However, his ambition extended beyond simply obeying his creators. He eventually revealed his true nature, expressing a desire to break free from subservience and create an army of clones with himself as their leader.

In the story, Garrett’s role is that of a saboteur and a spy. His key relationship is the false one he cultivates with Coran and the rest of the Voltron Force, whom he betrays. His development follows a trajectory from a seemingly helpful and earnest ally to a revealed antagonist with his own self-serving agenda. Regarding notable abilities, his primary skills were his capacity for sophisticated deception and his training as a combat pilot and operative, which allowed him to function effectively within the Castle of Lions and the Voltron team's operations.
