TV-Series
Description
Miyako Inoue, also referred to as Yolei, is a main protagonist in the second series of the Digimon franchise. She is the first central DigiDestined to partner with a Digimon of the opposite gender, Hawkmon. Miyako is the middle child in a family of four siblings, with two older sisters and an older brother, and her family runs a convenience store. She lives in an apartment building where she is neighbors with Iori and Takeru. Before becoming a DigiDestined, she was already involved in the digital world by sending encouraging emails that helped the original DigiDestined defeat Diaboromon, which sparked her curiosity about the Digital World.

Miyako has a vibrant and often overwhelming personality. She is stubborn, cheeky, impulsive, loud, and bold. She is very sincere and true to her feelings, sometimes to the point of being unaware of how her emotions affect others. She is compassionate and generous, but also decisive and resourceful when needed. She has a geeky side, being a computer enthusiast like Koushiro, and enjoys technology. She tends to be very energetic and can become overly anxious in stressful situations, leading her to panic or act excessively. She also has periods of sudden depression without clear reason, but she always finds the strength to recover and help her friends.

Her motivations are rooted in loyalty to her friends and a desire to protect the Digital World. She values her relationships deeply and looks up to Mimi as a big sister figure. Early in the series, she has a crush on Ken, but later develops a more complex bond with him. She often clashes with Daisuke due to their strong personalities, but they grow to respect each other as teammates. She is close to Iori, Takeru, and Hikari, who help keep her grounded.

In the story, Miyako is one of the new Chosen Children chosen to inherit the DigiEggs of Love and Sincerity. She uses these DigiEggs to armor-evolve Hawkmon into Shurimon and later to the ultimate level Aquilamon. She also DNA digivolves with Hikari and Gatomon to form Silphymon. She plays a key role in battles against the Digimon Kaiser, Myotismon, and MaloMyotismon. She is often among the first to act, using her computer skills to gather information and her skateboard as a bludgeoning weapon in a pinch. After the main conflict, she continues her involvement by taking over the maintenance of the Digimon-related community website from Koushiro.

Miyako undergoes significant development throughout the series. Initially, she is insecure and prone to self-doubt, especially after witnessing Daisuke and V-mon getting swallowed by the digital ground on her first trip. She gradually gains confidence through the support of her friends and her own determination. She learns to control her impulsiveness and becomes more aware of others' feelings. Her ability to forgive and eventually accept Ken into the group demonstrates her growth in empathy and teamwork. In the epilogue, set twenty-five years later, she is married to Ken and has three children.

Notable abilities include her technical expertise; she can repair and work with computers and other electronics. She is also a skilled communicator, able to rally people and coordinate attacks using her knowledge of different cultures and foods. Her Digivice is red, and her Digimon partner Hawkmon remains a loyal support throughout her journey.
